Dana Loesch

Dana Loesch is a woman the Left loves to hate. She’s a virtual encyclopedia of leftist paranoia: young, smart, an articulate speaker and clear thinker, an NRA spokesman, gun owner, author, and oh yes, beautiful to boot. As I noted in July in NRA: Loesching The Left

A then recent NRA ad featuring Loesch–pronounced “lash”–drove the left to red-faced, spitting rage. Loesch dared to expose the Left’s violence, love of anarchy, constant deception and hypocrisy. What caused exploding leftist heads across the nation was this coda:

The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth.

The Left screamed Loesch and the NRA were calling for armed violence against them. They’re ever unable to recognize reality: If law-abiding gun owners were truly evil and violent, why are there any Leftists around to call them evil and violent? If unfamiliar with that particular bit of fake news, by all means gentle readers, take the link and see for yourself.

The most recent bit of leftist outrage comes from one Adam Goldman at–surprise!–The New York Times. Watching a new NRA ad titled Taking On The Times featuring Loesch, Goldman’s precious little reporter head exploded when he thought Loesch–and the NRA, of course–was threatening to “fist” The New York Times. His breathless reporting was quickly picked up and spread by Dave Weigel at The Washington Post, and Yashar Ali at The Huffington Post.   Here’s what Loesch actually said:

We’re going to fisk the New York Times and just what deep, rich means to this old gray hag, this untrustworthy, dishonest rag that has subsisted on the welfare of mediocrity for one, two, three more decades.

We’re going to laser focus on your so-called honest pursuit of truth. In short, we’re coming for you.

To fist, for those not sufficiently elite and/or insufficiently wallowing in fringe sexual practices means to thrust one’s fist into the vagina or anus –eyow!–of another. So in the learned estimate of The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Huffington Post, Dana Loesch intended to thrust her fist into the vagina or anus of those respective fake news organizations. Film at 11.

The ad series featuring Loesch is titled “The Clenched Fist of Truth,” but this is a metaphor, as I pointed out in my July article, not an admonition to do something sexual with the truth, or with any fake news organization. It is, quite literally, a promise to expose their lies by means of publicizing the truth they won’t publish.

Thank goodness for all those layers of editors and fact checkers at those fake news outlets, eh?

As the text of the ad made clear, Loesch actually said the NRA was going to “fisk” the Times. To fisk means to thoroughly expose the lies, usually point by point, of a given writer or reporter, as in “Loesch gave his article a good fisking.” Exposed as a liar, Goldman deleted his earlier tweet, but wouldn’t give up in trying to claim virtue:

The Huffington Post “covered” the story in an article with the misleading title: Fist Or Fisk? NRA’s Bizarre Ad Has A Confusing Message For New York Times. And according to The Blaze, CNN’s Mark Hertling, a man determined to defend liberty against people like Loesch determined to expose media lies, reported her and the NRA to the feds (NOTE: Hertling later claimed he reported Loesch to Twitter rather than to a federal agency).  As regular readers know, CNN is perhaps the most prolific purveyor of fake news. Salon.com continued The Huffington Post’s theme:

In an absolutely bizarre NRA TV commercial, conservative talk radio host, Dana Loesch, took aim at the New York Times and called the publication an ‘old gray hag,’ and criticized what she said is a “constant protection” of their /Democrat overlords.

Hmm. Criticizing fake news outlets for lying, and promising to expose their lies is “bizarre?” Well, no doubt to progressive operatives with bylines. You don’t suppose the media coordinates on these things, do you? Nah. They’d never do something like that, would they? Oh, actually, they do…

Loesch was hardly deterred, and was, rightfully so, relentless:

I’m sure Loesch, like any effective conservative woman, receives more or less constant rape and death threats. Here’s only one example of the high-minded left’s responses to her, and this one is a bit mild for the genre:

I’ll let Loesch have the final word, this a Facebook post:

I hope you had a good weekend too, Dana, and I wouldn’t be holding my breath while waiting for those apologies.

UPDATE, 08-11-17 2030 CST:  It now seems at least one of the Leftists that attacked Loesch has developed a conscience, at least temporarily:Yashar Ali, of The Huffington Post, appears to be the only Leftist that has, to date, issued an apparently sincere apology.  I wonder where this attitude of Ali’s toward conservative women was when he was attacking Loesch in the first place?
I believe it was JFK who said–and I’m paraphrasing: “Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.”
