Sincerity is the most important thing in the world.  If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”

George Burns

Before Gropin’ Joe Biden’s “election,” and before his inauguration, I predicted one of two things: Biden would claim to have essentially cured Covid, and proclaiming himself mankind’s savior, would graciously return America to “normal,” or would ride the virus scam like a rented mule until it was no longer politically useful.  It’s now clear which path his handlers have chosen: they want it both ways, but mostly the latter.

Biden’s Covid speech, running a bit over 20 minutes was remarkable.  As a teacher of speech and debate, I reflexively analyze speeches in terms of purpose, theme, technique and audience:

Purpose: to convince Americans Donald Trump did nothing to address Covid, and what he did, despite doing nothing, was completely incompetent.

Theme: Only the enlightened Biden Administration has saved America.  A sub-theme was “unity,” but that was half hearted at best.

Technique: First, try to convince the rubes Joe really cares: he feels your pain and is one of you. Next, appeal to “science.”  Then hold out a carrot.  Finally, threaten to really wipe out the economy and every American family if they don’t obey.

Audience: The only one that really counts: Biden’s D/S/Cs handlers.

The speech was written by people who obviously don’t care about Americans, but think they know how to act as though they do.  They, in their intellectual and moral superiority, think they know how Normal Americans think and speak and what they want.  That’s what passes for sincerity in the D/S/C hive mind.

Biden was obviously and recently—probably for hours beforehand—practiced, but still had trouble with the TelePrompter.  He looked wooden, and tired as the speech wore on.  He had several instances of word fumbling.  His voice was monotone.  He tried for emphasis of what he considered important phrases—probably emphasized for him on the TP screen—but succeeded only in speaking slightly more loudly, and his facial expressions were mostly flat, or at best, looked strained, hardly surprising when you’ve had that much Botox.  There was little light or intelligence in his eyes; he was expending every once of strength he had just to read.  He walked down a long hallway to the podium, in a move that was probably supposed to demonstrate his great vitality.  The opposite was accomplished.  He walks with the unsteady, halting, jerky gait of the elderly, having to think very hard to maintain his balance.  He was even more unsteady and halting upon leaving.

Trump was actively involved in producing every speech, carefully editing and proofreading, and often ad libbing off script, yet able to seamlessly return to his place on the TP.  Biden surely had no role in editing the script, and was ruthlessly rehearsed.  Did he understand a word of it even as he struggled to read it?  Did he actually know he was lying even as he promised nothing but truth?  Did he appreciate the lunacy of calling for unity even as he promised to punish Deplorables for disobedience?  Or was he aware of it all?  Which would be worse?

It is a matter of feelings, not facts, that inform Biden’s thoughts and the policies of his handlers.  Biden may actually feel the feelings he’s told to express in words, perhaps only when he says them, perhaps as some dim memory, or perhaps he’s repeatedly reminded what he’s supposed to feel after he wakes up in the morning and asks his wife, or perhaps he thinks she’s his sister, what the hell he’s doing there.  But even as he demands people follow the “science,” what he’s actually doing is virtue signaling, at best.

I’ll not post and respond to the entire transcript—available here—but some of the most pertinent portions:

Finding light in the darkness is a very American thing to do. In fact, it may be the most American thing we do, and that is what we have done. We have seen front-line and essential workers risking their lives, sometimes losing them to save and help others; researchers and scientists bracing for a vaccine; and so many of you, as Hemingway wrote, being strong in all of the broken places. I know it’s been hard; I truly know.

Right, Joe.  You re-read Hemingway just for this occasion.  You’re just like us, if we were made multimillionaires by being compromised by the Chinese.

As I’ve told you before, I carry a card in my pocket with a number of Americans who have died from COVID to date; it’s on the back of my schedule. As of now, total deaths in America 527,726. That’s more deaths than in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War and 9/11 combined.

Uh, no Joe.  Not even close.

Watching a generation of children who may be set back up to a year or more because they have not been in school because of their loss of learning. It’s the details of life that matter the most, and we miss those details, the big details and the small moments, weddings, birthdays, graduations; all of the things that needed to happen but didn’t — a first date, the family reunions, the Sunday night rituals, it’s all exacted a terrible cost on the psyche of so many of us.

Which is why Joe’s handlers are keeping kids out of school and doing everything they can to draw this out as long as possible

States pitted against one another instead of working with each other; vicious hate crimes against Asian Americans who have been attacked, harassed, blamed and scapegoated.

This is Joe lying at his best.  How dare individual states refuse to obey him!  How dare they think they have any power in our republic!  And where is this epidemic of violence against Asians?  There have been some well-publicized attacks, but it turns out the attackers have not been Normal Americans unable to separate the Chinese Communists responsible for the pandemic and individual Asians, but black, male criminals, people who have always had animosity toward Asians (go here for a recent example).  Oh, and most such attacks seem to have occurred in—wait for it—D/S/C ruled cities.

Look, we know what we need to do to beat this virus; tell the truth, follow the scientists, the science, work together, put trust and faith in our government to fulfill its most important function, which is protecting the American people — no function more important. We need to remember the government isn’t some foreign force in a distant capital; no, it’s us, all of us. We, the people.

Uh, no Joe.  We absolutely distrust the government because you’ve shown us you have no intention of “protecting the American people.”  You’ve opened the borders to drugs, dry trafficking and untold thousands infected with Covid.  You’ve constantly lied to us, your “scientists” have flip flopped, and when they’ve been dead wrong—which is often—they’ve never told the truth about it or admitted it.  Your party has surrounded the Capital with barbed wire and troops, and you’ve called states legitimately—and where Covid is concerned, very successfully—practicing federalism “Neanterthals.”  You don’t deserve our faith or trust.

Last summer, I was in Philadelphia, and I met a small-business owner, a woman, and I asked her, I said, ‘What do you need most?’ Never forget what she said to me. She said, she looked me in the eye, and she said, ‘I just want the truth, the truth, just tell me the truth.’

You’ll never forget that?  More likely you’ll never remember it, because it never happened.  We all want the truth from government, but I doubt that would be the first thing on the mind of any small business owner crushed by the government.

Think of that. My fellow Americans, you are owed nothing less than the truth. And for all of you asking when things will get back to normal, here is the truth: The only way to get our lives back, to get our economy back on track is to beat the virus.

His handlers really do think we’re stupid.  We will never “beat” the virus.  It, in some form, will always be with us, just like the flu.  We get our lives and the economy back when totalitarian thugs get off our backs.

That’s why I’m using every power I have as President of the United States to put us on a war footing to get the job done. It sounds like hyperbole, but I mean the war footing, and thank God we are making some real progress now. In my first full day in office, I outlined for you a comprehensive strategy to beat this pandemic. We have spent every day since attempting to carry it out.

Uh-huh.  This is the same Joe Biden who, when campaigning, said Trump had no plan, but Biden did.  When he took office, he announced there was nothing he could do to stop the virus.  Then he refused to give Trump any credit for the very vaccine Joe immediately took, or the 800 million doses he ordered.

Two months ago, a country — this country didn’t have nearly enough vaccine supply to vaccinate all or near all of the American public, but soon we will. We have been working with vaccine manufacturers Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson to manufacture and purchase hundreds of millions of doses of these three safe, effective vaccines, and now at the direction and with the assistance of my administration, Johnson & Johnson is working together with a competitor, Merck, to speed up and increase the capacity to manufacture new Johnson & Johnson vaccines, which is one shot.

Incredible lies.  Not only did Trump—Operation Warp Speed—produce three remarkably effective vaccines five to ten times faster than any in history, available within a few days after the election, he ordered—before the election and before leaving office–more than enough doses to vaccinate every American.  He passed five bipartisan Covid bills before leaving office.  A complete distribution plan was in place when Biden took office, and Biden and Kamala Harris, despite trying to scare Americans into distrusting the vaccines because TRUMP, immediately took the vaccine.

That’s months ahead of schedule, and we are mobilizing thousands of vaccinators to put the vaccines in one’s arm, calling active-duty military, FEMA, retired doctors and nurses, administrators — and to those who administer the shots. And we’ve been creating more places to get the shots. We’ve made it possible for you to get a vaccine at nearly one — any 1 of 10,000 pharmacies across the country, just like you get your flu shot.

What?!  There aren’t enough doctors, nurses, lab techs, and nursing students to do shots?  At the rate of once per five minutes, a single person can give 12 shots per hour, 96 per day, 480 per week.  Multiply that by 10,000–surely there are enough “vaccinators” in America to do that?–and Joe’s lie is obvious.  And as I previously mentioned, Trump set up a complete distribution program.  Any problems have been due to state governors like Cuomo setting up bizarre rules that have actually wasted vaccine.

With new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the CDC, that came out on Monday, it means simply this: Millions and millions of grandparents, who went months without being able to hug their grandkids can now do so. And the more people are fully vaccinated, the CDC will continue to provide additional guidance on what you can do in the workplace, places of worship, with your friends, as well as travel.

Right.  First it was shutting the country down just a few weeks to “flatten the curve.”  Then it was just a few more weeks of flattening.  Then it was masks and social distancing.  Then it was two or three masks.  Then it was waiting until everyone was vaccinated.  Now after everyone is vaccinated, St. Fauci tells us we might be able to do something like “normal” sometime in 2022.  Here’s Normal American’s “guidance” for the CDC: we’re going to do whatever we damned well please and to Hell with you nitwit liars.

First, tonight, I’m announcing that I will direct all states, tribes and territories to make all adults, people 18 and over, eligible to be vaccinated no later than May 1. Let me say that again. All adult Americans will be eligible to get a vaccine no later than May 1.

“Eligible?!”  There are eligibility requirements?  Being human isn’t sufficient?

Secondly, at the time when every adult is eligible in May, we will launch with our partners new tools to make it easier for you to find the vaccine and where to get the shot, including a new website that will help you first find the place to get vaccinated and the one nearest you. No more searching day and night for an appointment for you and your loved ones.

Oh, of course.  We’re too stupid to find vaccines in our communities.  We don’t have doctors, public health centers, or any other means of getting vaccinated, nor are we smart enough to find any without federal Government help.  Perhaps this might be helpful for all those Covid infected illegals Joe is bussing all over America, but probably only if the “help” is in Spanish.

Fourth, in the coming weeks, we will issue further guidance on what you can and cannot do once fully vaccinated to lessen the confusion, to keep people safe, and encourage more people to get vaccinated.

I believe I already covered this under “go to Hell.”

I need you to get vaccinated when it’s your turn and when you can find an opportunity and to help your family, your friends, your neighbors get vaccinated as well. Because here’s the point. If we do all this, if we do our part, we do this together, by July the 4th, there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day.

Hey, Joe isn’t promising anything, but if you obey, if you’re extra good, wise and virtuous Uncle Joe, who is just like you, may allow you to have a very small group of people—triple-masked and socially distanced, of course—over to celebrate Independence Day and our essential liberties, but only in your back yard–outdoors.  But you have to wait for government permission, and we’ll see how things go and how well you obey the mandates of your betters.  Have I mentioned “go to hell”?

So my message to you is this. Listen to Dr. Fauci, one of the most distinguished and trusted voices in the world. He’s assured us the vaccines are safe. They underwent rigorous scientific review.

Uh, Joe?  “Listen to Dr. Fauci,” lost most of America right there.  He blew whatever little credibility he had long ago.  And you do remember you tried to scare everybody into distrusting the vaccine because TRUMP?  Oh. I said: “remember.”  Never mind.

Unity is what we do together as fellow Americans, because if we don’t stay vigilant and the conditions change, then we may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track. And please, we don’t want to do that again. We’ve made so much progress. This is not the time to let up. Just as we were emerging from a dark winter into a hopeful spring and summer is not the time to not stick with the rules.

That’s right, America.  Joe doesn’t want to exercise complete dictatorial control over the country, but you’re a disobedient, non-unified lot, so he’s ready to do it—for your own good, of course.  If even one of your doesn’t “stick with the rules,” you have only yourselves to blame.

You know, and there’s something else we lost. We lost faith in whether our government and our democracy can deliver on really hard things for the American people.

That’s the only remotely true thing Joe said during his speech.

America is coming back. The development, manufacture, distribution of vaccines in record time is a true miracle of science. It’s one of the most extraordinary achievements any country has ever accomplished. We also just saw the Perseverance rover land on Mars, stunning images of our dreams that are now reality, another example of the extraordinary American ingenuity, commitment and belief in science and one another.

And those things occurred under whose direction Joe?  C’mon, you can say “Donald Trump,” can’t you?

So, God bless you all. And please, God, give solace to all those people who lost someone. May God protect our troops. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I look forward to seeing you.

How about blessing the United States, Joe?  Oh, and we don’t look forward to seeing you.

Words from the Never Trump chairman. Ahoy!

Final Thoughts:  Various D/S/Cs and Never Trumpers have proclaimed the speech the most brilliant and brilliantly delivered in history.  Unfortunately, Biden’s “Unity” is the unity of totalitarianism, of absolute obedience and Lysenkoist “science.”  The speech assumed Americans have only privileges which may be granted or rescinded by whim, not unalienable rights.  It ignored entirely the federalist powers of the states, placing all governmental power instead in “some foreign force in a distant capital,” a capital surrounded by unwilling and bored troops behind fences and barbed wire.  It grossly insulted the intelligence of Americans, lied to them, and then demanded “unity.”

Worst of all, it was delivered by a man in the throes of mental decline, a condition known to all his handlers before the election, a condition upon which they are counting to maintain their grip on permanent power.  Americans cannot so much as be confident Joe Biden has any idea what he is saying beyond his limited ability to read out loud, nor that the ideals he claims in such speeches as his own actually are.

One doesn’t inspire, unify, and uplift by weakly suggesting Americans might be allowed a tiny liberty that is their birthright, and threatening to snatch it away should they disobey in the slightest way.

God help us all.
