Those of us that have been paying attention–to our horror–have discovered that not only is Hillary Clinton making some faint “I can run again; I can run again!” noises, but the Clinton Machine, which always includes the legacy media, is doing everything possible to put Chelsea Clinton in the media spotlight in anticipation of her running for something or other. The point? Why to continue the ever-lasting Clinton political dynasty, of course! Heatstreet.com reports:
Next month, Variety magazine will host its annual ‘Women in Power’ luncheon, where it will pass out ‘lifetime achievement awards’ to several lucky ladies who have dedicated their lives in the service of others.
This year, for no apparent reason, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, will get a ‘lifetime achievement’ award for her service to…well, that part’s not quite clear.
But she’ll get the lifetime achievement award anyway.
Well why not? Yasser Arafat got the Nobel Peace Prize for being one of the most vicious, blood-soaked, genocidal, Jew-hating terrorists in history. Al Gore got the Nobel Peace Prize for paying talented people to make a hysterical, anti-scientific pseudo documentary claiming the warming is coming, the warming is coming! while simultaneously owning a mansion and a 100 foot long houseboat. And Barack Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize for being, uh, well, for being…Barack Obama. Why can’t Chelsea get a lifetime achievement award, even though she hasn’t really achieved anything, or lived anything close to a lifetime? There’s precedent!
According to Variety, the women will get the award for ‘their humanitarian work,’ as well as their impact on the fields of entertainment and media. Included in this year’s group is Jessica Chastain, who has led a one-woman campaign in support of Planned Parenthood and O-magazine editor and Oprah BFF Gayle King, who uses her fortune to help the homeless and destitute in New York City.
Other honorees have fought child sex trafficking, helped homeless youth, and funded a vast network of legal clinics to aid the marginalized.
Everyone knows Chelsea Clinton is one of this century’s most unknown, non-notable, marginal humanitarians. Legal Insurrection adds a bit of color:
We also noted that Chelsea’s appointment to the Expedia Board of Directors recently was another resume-building tool for someone who has no experience, Chelsea Clinton Lands Cushy Spot on Board of Directors at Expedia. She’s also rolling out a children’s book, Chelsea Clinton Writing Children’s Book ‘She Persisted’
Now there is news of more Chelsea absurdity, Chelsea gaining a “Power of Women” Award from Variety magazine…’ [skip]
Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, will be honored for her work with Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which empowers kids to develop lifelong healthy habits.
Most of the headlines have called this a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ — but it’s only an Award through the Lifetime network.
I’m confused. Don’t you normally get a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the end of–you know–a lifetime, and after you’ve actually achieved something of note? But wait! There’s more:
Chuck Ross at The Daily Caller summed it up well:
‘The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which helps fight childhood obesity, is affiliated with the Clinton Foundation, where Clinton serves as vice chair.
Clinton’s other achievements include being born to one of the most skilled politicians in American history, growing up in the White House, landing a $600,000 contract with MSNBC, marrying a hedge fund millionaire, and tweeting constantly about President Trump.’
That’s right! I’d completely forgotten about Chelsea’s constant, snide tweets about President Trump. What an accomplishment!
I somehow suspect Democrats are about as excited about Chelsea Clinton as they are about another presidential run by Hillary. Well, I think it’s a grand idea. Chelsea for whatever, 20-something! Pushing her into politics would be just about as dumb as congressional Republicans self-immolating over their non-repeal of Obamacare. But if they’re that dopey, who am I to stand in their way?
Oh well. At least things aren’t boring these days.
