Guess, gentle readers, this idiot’s party. Truly, we are ruled by the best and brightest.  We begin this first TSTS of 2023 with just a few of Joe Biden’s greatest hits from 2022:

There’s no way to know which year Biden thinks this is.

That’s not going to make Putin more paranoid.

Because of course he did.

Which prompted the White House “what Joe really meant to say” office to swing into action explaining Joe really doesn’t have cancer.

This was far from his worst excursion into dementia in 2022.

Yeah: ????????!

“Seems?” Nah. He fell asleep.

One doesn’t have to have much of an imagination to know what those Marines were thinking.

How’s that been workin’ out for you, Joe?

Well, he was three closer to reality than Obama.

Hmmm. Aren’t they admitting the power of prayer?

Swell. Another gender/sex/religion. And yes, we do have a major stupid crisis.

Courtesy of the New York Post, some of the most egregious stupidity of 2022:

‘[The] Inflation Reduction Act — so beautifully named.’

— House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sept. 13

‘The president . . . has taken action to secure our border and build a fair, orderly and humane immigration system.’

— WH Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Dec. 6

‘I don’t think we [at CNN] ever were liberal.’

— CNN anchor Don Lemon, Nov. 28

‘If Vladimir Putin opts to back away from invading Ukraine, even temporarily, it’s because Joe Biden . . . has matched every Putin chess move with an effective counter of his own.’

— Three-time NYT Pulitzer winner Thomas Friedman, Feb. 15

‘Crime is not on the rise. It’s actually going down.’

— ‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar, Nov. 1

‘[Overturning Roe v. Wade] was an unconstitutional act.’

— Karine Jean-Pierre, Aug. 3

‘The fact is that I had zero emails that were classified.’

— Hillary Clinton, tweet, Sept. 6

‘[Biden’s student-loan write-offs are] paid for and far more by . . . deficit reduction.’

— Biden economist Bharat Ramamurti, Aug. 26

‘I don’t think [the lockdowns] irreparably damaged anyone.’

— Anthony Fauci, Aug. 23

‘Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership.’

— WH tweet, posted Nov. 1, later deleted

‘I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted [inflation].’

— Ex-WH Press Secretary Jen Psaki, May 9

‘Stop complaining [about inflation]. Many Americans are not suffering as much as they think they are.’

The Washington Post’s Michelle Singletary on MSNBC, Jun 22

OK, so most of those were bizarre and blatant lies, but they were all incredibly stupid. Yes, she’s paranoid and stupid:

Vice President Kamala Harris is requiring any senator or family member or guest of a senator wishing to take a photo with her at Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony for the new Congress to have a negative coronavirus test taken within 24 hours of the picture, Breitbart News has learned.

The U.S. Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Protocol Office blasted out a message on Thursday to all Senate offices noting that Harris’s office is requiring the coronavirus tests before taking photos with the vice president.

What would any edition of TSTS be without Kamala?  Yes, the media hates us; yes, they’re stupid:

Kamala Harris had a most excellent year

The vice president is finishing a banner year filled with domestic barnstorming and high-wire diplomacy.

It was inevitable: even exercise is racist:

Fitness influencers and Twitter users blasted a TIME interview for portraying exercise as an activity with roots in White supremacy.

‘How did U.S. exercise trends go from reinforcing white supremacy to celebrating Richard Simmons?’ the TIME article, titled ‘The White Supremacist Origins of Exercise, and 6 Other Surprising Facts about the History of U.S. Physical Fitness’ asked.

The article was heavily mocked on Twitter, with critics saying it was destroying the media’s credibility.

And what credibility would that be exactly?  And are all those black professional athletes racist too?

How indeed?

Are you stupid because of white people too?  Peak stupid for this week: House Republicans:

When Judges argue against the First Amendment…

Ninth Circuit Judge Urges Supreme Court “Not to Give Any First Amendment Protection for Racist Hate Speech”

‘[G]overnment officials … should not be unduly constrained in their attempts to regulate hate speech for the purpose of protecting the intended targets of said speech. This may require some refining of the Supreme Court’s prior guidance in its precedents…. For example, the Court could consider modifying the Brandenburg test to require only a probable and emerging threat of violence rather than imminent lawless action as a result of speech in order to regulate it.’

They’re not just stupid, but evil. To be fair, no circuit is overturned by the Supreme Court more often than the 9th. Still, impeach the bastards.

Just like losing socks in a dryer?

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) admitted it has ‘no records’ of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants released into the country with electronic tracking devices, the agency said in a Dec. 22 letter to Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).

ICE informed TRAC that it had ‘no records’ of the 377,980 individuals monitored by the agency’s ‘Alternatives to Detention’ (ATD) program used to electronically track illegal immigrants released into the country. TRAC had asked for data via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request on those in ATD custody from the start of fiscal year 2019 to August 2022.

‘ICE’s response that they could no longer find records on immigrants in Alternatives to Detention (ATD) that they had previously released came as a shock, particularly after they informed us recently that they had been misleading the public for several months by releasing extremely inaccurate ATD data. The agency really needs to come clean.’

So, did they do this on purpose? Was it mere incompetence? Are they working for Red China like Biden? It’s all stupid, of course.

Catching drug smugglers: bad for “our democracy:”

No dedicated funding: Air Force scraps spy planes used to fight border drug war

No current plan exists to replace the RC-26 aircraft despite the Air Force speeding up the program’s dismantling, as reported by CNN.

Even though the spy planes are relied on heavily to monitor fentanyl smuggling across the U.S./Mexico border, National Guard pilots are being told to scrap the aircraft earlier than expected. Originally reportedto face an April 2023 retirement for the planes, pilots received new orders in November 2022 to ditch them before the end of the year.

Open border, hundreds of thousand of dead Americans—good. Secure border, no dead Americans—bad.

What could possibly go wrong?

Federal air marshals are outraged as the Biden administration continues to send them to the southern border despite a renewed terror threat from al Qaeda.

Air Marshal National Council Executive Director Sonya Labosco joined ‘Fox & Friends First’ Tuesday to discuss why the diversion has put Americans at risk and why they are going to ‘suffer’ as a result of the move.

‘It looks absolutely insane,’ Labosco told co-host Todd Piro. ‘We don’t understand why these decisions are being made. The intel is clear. Al Qaeda is watching for our weak areas. Our aviation is a high-risk area. We’re not protecting our aviation domain, and we’re going to the border. It is absolutely madness.’

But all the smart people tell me the border is secure! If they were trying to destroy America, what would they do differently? If they were inviting terrorist attacks, what would they do differently? If they were really, really stupid, what… And speaking of really, really stupid:

Anthony Fauci’s legacy might be impossible to replicate

He was better at the job than anyone the United States has seen before.

By Editorial Board

Of course he was, because the Editorial Board is stupid. Wait a minute. Where, exactly, are they “inserting” that stuff?

Oh. Kinda tends to put one off pizza and spaghetti, doesn’t it?  Prof. George isn’t stupid:

Universities? Absolutely.  Because they’re doing such a great job:

New York lawmakers are now officially the highest paid state legislators in the land after they awarded themselves a massive pay raise.

Members of both houses, 63 senators and 150 Assembly members, are getting a pay boost of $32,000 for a new base salary of $142,000, under a bill Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a day before her inauguration Sunday.

Yes, she’s that stupid:

In her New Year’s Day Inaugural speech following her 2022 election, New York Governor Kathy Hochul took aim at one of the biggest problems plaguing her state: People who are fleeing New York to escape the consequences of Democratic policies.

Her words were a far cry from her campaign rhetoric back in August where she suggested that her political opponents, including Rep. Lee Zeldin, should ‘Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK? You are not New Yorkers.’

Many people over the last months and years have taken exactly this advice, fleeing New York’s oppressive, anti-business climate and crime rates for the greener pastures of Florida and other states. According to the Census Bureau, New York had the highest population decline of any state in the union in 2022, while Florida had the highest rate of population growth.

Wait a minute. Aren’t they part of the party of diversity, inclusion and tolerance?

Oh No! Now the “Far-Right” is anti-wolf?!

How antiwolf sentiments play out electorally remains an open question. One recent study finds that support for a conservation ballot in the United States was lower in areas with wolf populations. Survey data suggest that US Republicans are more likely to hold antiwolf attitudes. In several European countries, right-wing populist parties cater to rural concerns about the wolf—although scholars also note an increasing concern for biodiversity as well as a positive fascination with the wolf on the populist right. . .

Municipalities exposed to wolf attacks on livestock witness significantly rising vote shares of the far-right AfD [AfD is Alternative for Deutschland, the populist party founded in 2013]. . .  In federal elections the AfD gains between 1 and 2 percentage points once a wolf has attacked. . . At the same time, we find inconsistent evidence on whether wolf attacks are associated with a drop in voting for the Green party.

The point of this “study” is “far-right” voting correlates with anti-wolf sentiment. But then again, most people die in bed, so mattresses are obviously lethal.  Incontrovertible evidence Nancy Pelosi is suffering from dementia:

The outgoing House speaker wrote a farewell letter to her fellow Democrats, with this load of pearl of Pelosi wisdom:

One final thought that I wanted to leave with you is my belief that the House Democratic Caucus is the greatest collection of intellect, integrity and imagination assembled for the good of the American people.

SCIENCE!

The Federal Government is crazy:

Asking an Asian person for math help is a microaggression. Reverse racism does not exist. Men can get pregnant.

Those are just a few of the lessons imparted to government workers in diversity trainings and presentations in 2021, according to documents obtained by the Wall Street Journal editorial page. The materials, summarized in a December 30 editorial, show how once-fringe ideas have saturated the federal bureaucracy, from the Department of Veterans Affairs to NASA and the military.

One NASA training states that efforts to be colorblind ‘actually limit us.’ Another identifies the words ‘America is a melting pot’ and ‘don’t you want a family?’ as ‘microaggressions,’ along with ‘asking an Asian person to help with a math or science problem.’ A third lists ‘perfectionism’ and ‘data is king’ as examples of ‘common leadership mistakes.’

‘Value and center lived experience,’ the presentation says. ‘Do not demand data in order to accept a person’s individual perspective or to utilize that perspective in decision-making.’

Yes, it’s worse:

‘When patterns of white supremacy are named or questioned,’ one slide from her talk reads, ‘predictable defensive responses will emerge.’ Other slides assert that ‘reverse racism does not exist’ and suggest that ‘individualism’ and ‘universalism’ perpetuate bias.

Crazy and stupid. And in other Federal Government news, Republicans pounce!

It’s the Star Tribune, so too stupid to survive.
