I continue to be amazed at how completely Liz Cheney is blowing herself up in Wyoming.

Just how desperate is Cheney?  This desperate:

#NeverTrump Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney reportedly has sent instructions to Wyoming Democrats on how to change their party affiliations so they can vote for her.

Why on earth would Democrats vote for her? Oh, yeah. She’s hellbent on destroying President Donald Trump and losing to his preferred candidate in the primary.

The primary election is in August. Wyoming has only one representative in the House of Representatives.

Wyoming does not have open primaries. You must vote in your registered party’s primary but you can change your ‘affiliation on the day of your primary’ no matter your ‘previous party affiliation.’

Wyoming Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Barbuto received the mailer from Cheney. He said he has seen only Democrats posting the same mailer on their social media feeds.

As far as we know no Republicans got it.

But will it work? In the first six months of 2022, the GOP gained 1,689 registered voters. Democrats and unaffiliated voters went down by 1,303.

Do the math. Wyoming has ‘four times as many registered Republicans as there are Democrats in the state.’

Barbuto: ‘Even if every Democrat in the state switched over. I don’t think it’d be enough to help her.’

Remember, gentle readers, that’s the Wyoming D/S/C Party chairman speaking.  And speaking of useful idiots:

Last week, we learned that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) was sending out campaign mailers to Democrats in her district in the hopes of saving her reelection. Clearly, she assumed that her lack of viability as a Republican because she assisted in the Democrats’ witchhunt would translate into genuine support from Democrats.

She certainly had reason to believe it was possible. Think about it: how many on the left pretended to ‘respect’ Liz Cheney for her ‘bravery’ for standing up to Trump, and yada, yada, yada?

Well, Liz Cheney is learning the hard way that she was just a useful idiot for the Democrat Party by being a part of their partisan Jan. 6 Committee and that they really don’t look at her any better than they do any other Republican, especially now that she expressed support for the Supreme Court after Dobbs.

‘I have always been strongly pro-life,’ Cheney tweeted after the Dobbs decision was released. ‘Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court returns power to the states and the people of the states to address the issue of abortion under state law.’

It turns out that her left-wing supporters learned that Cheney wasn’t actually becoming one of them and turned on her without batting an eye.

‘Just when i started to admire u,’ Rosie O’Donnell tweeted in response to Cheney.

‘Some Democrats were literally saying only days ago they would support Liz Cheney for President. How far we have fallen. How transactional the world has become,’ author Don Winslow said.

‘Just shows that being on the right side of one issue doesn’t make you a good person. She’s still a Cheney, ffs,’ left-wing talk host Nicole Sandler observed.

Let this be a lesson to Republicans: don’t be a useful idiot for the Democrats. They will turn on you as soon as they’re done with you. That Liz Cheney thought she could count on Democrats to save her career is proof of just how deluded any Republican who thinks they can gain something by allying with Democrats trying to destroy the GOP can be.

The issue for Wyoming voters is no one can believe anything Cheney says, including “the” and “and.”

While Cheney is busy with the second historic impeachment of a president no longer in office, Wyomingites have more pressing concerns:

A radio ad airing in Wyoming is slamming Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) as out of touch with her Cowboy State constituents.

The ad takes aim at one of Cheney’s weakest points: the Wisconsin native’s infrequent visits from the Washington, DC area — where she spends her days in a wealthy neighborhood in McLean, Virginia — to the state of Wyoming, where her political future hangs in the balance.

Outrider PAC, a group that reportedly supports Cheney’s opponent, Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, is responsible for the ad that slams Cheney as a ‘DC diva.’ Vox, which first reported the ad, noted the commercial does not mention Cheney by name, perhaps because the group wishes to squelch Cheney’s name recognition.

‘Ouch, have you seen these gas prices?’ the ad says. ‘They just keep going up. And Washington is too busy fighting to work on solutions. Nothing gets done. We need fewer DC divas and more problem solvers.’

‘That’s why I’m supporting Harriet Hageman. She supports bipartisan efforts to increase American energy independence. And help bring the supply chain back to the US,’ the ad continued.

Wyomingites have to do a lot of driving to get to and from work, and to get the necessities of life, to say nothing of the occasional trip for shopping and recreation.  Wyoming’s economy is also largely dependent on the energy industry.  Cheney’s Trump obsession has utterly destroyed her credibility on energy issues.  Trust and honesty matter in Wyoming.  Wyomingites also take the Second Amendment–that’s a trust and honest issue too–seriously:

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and thirteen other House Republicans crossed the aisle and voted with Democrats to pass gun control by 234-193 on Friday.

The measure on which the House voted was Sen. Cornyn’s gun control package, which passed the Senate Thursday night by a vote of 65-33, with 15 Republican Senators caving on gun control.

Harriett Hageman was quick to respond.  This is from a 06-24-22 e-mail:

Liz Cheney votes to undermine 2nd Amendment

Rep. Liz Cheney today voted in favor of gun control legislation, destroying any pretense that she stands up for the 2nd Amendment.  Cheney voted with Democrats to erode the right to possess firearms.

Harriett Hageman, Republican candidate for the U. S. House of Representatives in Wyoming released the following statement:

‘Whatever Liz Cheney is doing with our only House seat, she certainly isn’t using it to represent the views and values of the people of Wyoming.  The lawful possession of firearms for hunting and self-defense is an integral part of our DNA in this state, and we don’t want our constitutional rights negotiated away.  We all agree that mental health is an important issue that needs to be addressed, but we should not limit the rights of law-abiding citizens.  Red flag laws, for example, can be easily abused to deny gun ownership to responsible citizens, including even those of the military,  I would most certainly have voted against this bill.

Liz Cheney have ben doing Nancy Pelosi’s bidding on the illegitimate January 6th Committee for so long that she’s now voting for their anti-2nd Amendment legislation. Cheney has abandoned any pretense of sticking up for the people of this state.’

For most Wyomingites, this is self-evident.  Just as she wraps herself in a warped, D/S/C version of the Constitution, Cheney haplessly tried to wrap herself in the Second Amendment:

In a statement following the vote on Friday, Cheney — one of the more surprising Republican lawmakers to support the legislation — said the measure would safeguard children and curb violence without undermining Second Amendment rights.

The National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Political Victory Fund encouraged NRA members in Wyoming to vote for Cheney in her 2020 reelection campaign, noting her A rating from the organization.

‘As a mother and a constitutional conservative, I’m proud to support this sensible bill that will protect our children and limit violence without infringing on law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights. Nothing in the bill restricts the rights of responsible gun owners. Period,’ Cheney said.

I will always protect the Second Amendment. This legislation recognizes the importance of that right while making our schools safer, providing more tools for law enforcement, and expanding funding for mental health resources, which is why I voted for it,’ she added.

As I’ve recently written, this bill not only pushes unconstitutional red flag laws and spends billions we don’t have, nothing in it would have stopped any past school attacker, nor will it stop any future attackers.

As I’m sure you know by now, gentle readers, Cheney’s January 6 Committee produced one Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide, to produce double and triple hearsay “bombshell” testimony that would, once and for all, finally, get Trump.  Media idiots praised Hutchinson.  CNN’s Chris Wallace called her “brilliant,” and others drooled, breathlessly asserting in the future, every American would remember where they were when Hutchinson was testifying. You know, like Pearl Harbor, the Kennedy assassination,  9-11, that sort of thing.  Unfortunately for Cheney, Hutchinson engaged in serial, Committee abetted, perjury.  One example:

Almost immediately, even NBC News(?!) was exposing Hutchinson’s, and Cheney’s, lies:

Not only Wyomingites were noticing:

Here’s another example:

Yes, gentle readers, they’re purposely lying, and it’s blowing up in their faces.  Remember: Cheney is the vice chairman of the committee.  She’s deciding everything, and she doesn’t give a damn about ethics:

Yah think?

Final Thoughts:  The January 6 Committee’s final report is going to be no surprise, and will have little or no political impact.  It was written before the first hearing, and it’s all on Cheney.  Wyomingites didn’t need any of that to want to run Cheney out of office.  Her lunatic Trump obsession, combined with her disdain for the little people and near total physical and policy disconnect from Wyoming was more than enough.

I’ll be glad, this coming January, when Cheney is out of office and I won’t have to write about her much, if at all.  In putting together these articles, I reject far more material than I include.  Cheney is an inexhaustible fount of “vote against me” outrage, wrapped in a D/S/C notion of the Constitution.

More, sadly, soon I’m sure.  Enter “liz cheney” into the SMM home page search bar to find every article in this series.
