  1. That’s not a 994H, it’s a 998 something. It says so on the side of the loader. With a 17 yard bucket, which the 998G can have, loading material at 2500 lbs per yard; gets you less than 12 scoops per Tesla battery if it really takes 500,000 lbs of whatever it digs for that. If it takes one minute per scoop, which is a pretty slow cycle time in production mining, that’s 30 gallons of fuel if the rate in the meme is accurate.

    Sounds pretty reasonable if you do the math.

      Thanks! The point, of course, is mining those materials for EV batteries is neither cost effective nor environmentally sound.
