Inflation is now at 8.6%, the highest rate in 41 years. The average gas price is now at least $5.00 per gallon, and new records have been set daily for the last two weeks. Considering that, and far more/worse, D/S/C’s focus is, Inspector Javert-Like, pursuing Donald Trump.
Oh my Lord. I managed to watch about half of the clown show on 06-09-22. I’m still recovering. It was breathlessly billed by CNN and other D/S/C media propaganda outlets as the greatest show on Earth where all manner of “new” revelations would be made, revelations that would conclusively prove, once and for all, Donald Trump was the master planner of a coup/insurrection. Oh yes, after two failed impeachments, including the second after he was out of office, this time, this rehash of the first and second impeachment, they’d finally have the goods on Trump, right there on TV!
As with every similar clown show—many playing out in courtrooms—I’ve covered since going online with this scruffy little blog in 2011, the prosecution’s “revelations” destroyed its own case. And in this particular clown show, by design, there was no defense. Their carefully scripted, entirely telepromptered extravaganza destroyed itself. The SMM Capital Coverups archive is here.
The festivities began with Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson-surprise!– playing the race card, comparing Trump and Republicans to the KKK and slavery. Thompson also proclaimed the Committee wasn’t a political attack on Trump by people who hate him. Of course not! D/S/Cs would never do a thing like that.
Perhaps the biggest revelation was provided by Wyoming’s soon to be ex-Representative, Liz Cheney. More on her shortly. She admitted every law enforcement agency in the government, from the FBI down to the Capitol Police, knew days in advance of credible threats of violence at the Capitol on January 6, though she did not provide any real details. As we now know, thanks to the good graces of John Solomon at Just The News, due to documents pried unwillingly from the government, Trump authorized up to 20,000 National Guard troops, and Nancy Pelosi, who as Speaker of the House is solely responsible for the security of the Capitol, turned them down. This was just one of at least 53 egregious security failures directly attributable to Pelosi.
Solomon noted this was due to what Pelosi considered “bad optics,” which is laughable considering we learned after January 6, she demanded the Department of Defense ring the Capitol with crew-served weapons—medium and heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and similar weaponry, and M1 Abrams tanks!
With this admission, how is it Trump could have been plotting an insurrection, when he was offering 20,000 troops that would surely have prevented the events of January 6? The larger question, which the Committee has not for a moment addressed, nor did it address in prime time, was why the Capitol Police were so unprepared, and why they opened the doors and invited people inside, though Cheney said the Committee would eventually get around to looking into something like that. The obvious answer is Pelosi wanted it that way. She hoped things would go bad, and the FBI was deployed to help it go bad. She wanted a political weapon. The alternative is D/S/C congressional leadership is entirely incompetent, though the two are not mutually exclusive.
Other than Cheney’s admission, nothing new, of any consequence, was produced.
Committee second in command, Liz Cheney took 34 of the longest minutes in the history of time to convince even more of Wyoming why she needs to be run out of Congress. If by some miracle, she retains her seat, she has burned every bridge to comity with Republicans. In a monotone, she read entirely from a teleprompter. Coup! Insurrection! Trump caused it all, he’s the wellspring of conspiracy and everything bad, yet Cheney could not provide pertinent evidence to prove any of her contentions. She did, however, continue her practice of doctoring quotes, omitting important information, and lying in general. She said Trump never condemned crimes committed on January 6, an easily disproved lie, and there were many more like this.
Everything, every word spoken, every video clip, was edited and scripted. None of the authenticity of people speaking from memory and personal knowledge was present. Just as the “Russia!” narrative was a lie, every lie told in prime time was in support of the evolving “get Trump” narrative, serviced by every statement taken out of context, every edited, manipulated video.
The video clips were all carefully edited to try to depict maximum chaos, yet despite the promise of all manner of new revelations, they were no different from videos those who have been paying attention to these issues have seen before. Of course, that was the point. Most Americans haven’t been paying attention, so the edited, deceptive video might seem new to them—if any had been watching. Only 19 million Americans, on all networks broadcasting the debacle, watched, half the number that watched Biden’s disastrous State Of The Union Speech.
There are reportedly thousands of hours of surveillance and other video. Why hasn’t it been released, why only these select, deceptively edited, clips? The answer is obvious: most of that video depicts people peacefully walking through the building, viewing the statuary, taking selfies, politely chatting with the Capitol Police officers who let them in the building and did not tell them to leave. Some of that video also certainly shows who those officers were, and exactly when and where they opened the doors. The Gateway Pundit provides this:
Treacherous treasonous criminals!! The UNSELECT January 6th Committee disgraced themselves and the nation on Primetime TV last night. They brought British filmmaker Nick Quested onto the stand as one of their key witnesses and presented his footage to the public EDITED in the most manipulated fashion possible to leave out the most compelling content he shot that day- THE BODIES OF UNITED STATES VETERAN ASHLI BABBITT AND ROSANNE BOYLAND!!
Do they think Americans are stupid!?!!!
A more complete version of Quested’s footage was released by a source to the public this morning. It contains never-before-seen footage of Rosanne Boyland and Ashli’s Babbitt’s bodies.
Take the link to see the unedited video.
A Capitol Police officer, Caroline Edwards, testified, and her words were clearly scripted, aimed at supporting the narrative. Why was this specific officer chosen? Because she’s young and pretty, she’s telegenic. These are people who feed on emotion like parasites. They shamelessly manipulate others, and they obviously hoped she would provoke politically useful feelings in viewers.
Because of my police background, I look for evidence, for logic and reason. What’s most striking is the complete lack of evidence Donald Trump violated any law. How can it be this man who is worse than ten Hitlers, who is single-handedly destroying our “democracy,” who is the greatest threat to America ever, could be the most investigated person in history, the target of two failed impeachments, yet no evidence of his criminality can be produced? Attorney Anne Althouse agrees:
They should be scrupulous in how they use evidence or they ruin their own credibility. This seems like a blatant example of stretching — of making the evidence fit the conclusion you want to draw.
Keep in mind, gentle readers, the federal criminal code is so voluminous, written in such a way if the feds want to convict pretty much anyone of anything, they can do it. Give them the man, they’ll find the crime, as hundreds of Americans who happened to be standing outside the Capitol on January 6 are discovering. Yet where Donald Trump is concerned, no evidence of any crime can be found?
Disagreeing with the outcome of an election is not illegal. Exploring legal options is not illegal. Taking those arguments to elected election officials or courts is not illegal. Speaking with others, trying to persuade them, is not illegal. Every criminal law has specific elements that must be fulfilled, not only for arrest, but for conviction. This, gentle readers, is why Trump has not been arrested: he has committed no crime, so Cheney and the rest of the liars of the Committee are reduced to insinuation, omission of exculpatory information, doctoring quotes and videos and outright lies. If they had proof, we would have known it before now. They leak profusely. If they had proof, they would have dramatically released it in their first, and likely only, prime time clown show. That they did not speaks volumes. Go here for a minute by minute analysis of the prime time drama. Go here for an additional, useful account.
Final Thoughts: the committee has no interest in prevention, in securing the Capitol, and certainly no interest in exposing those who so badly failed in their duties. Any honest committee would be exposing the murder of Ashli Babbitt and the gross incompetence/political calculation that left the Capitol wide open. If would be exposing the role of the FBI and asking why nothing has been done about the person who apparently placed two pipe bombs.
This committee exists to try to limit the political damage the D/S/C Party’s policies are going to cause them in November. It also exists to try to prosecute Donald Trump for something, anything, and failing that, to try to keep him off the ballot in 2024. If in the process, they can harm any other Republican, that’s icing on the cake. This, you see, is not damaging to our “democracy,” but it’s taking a great toll on our Republic.
If this first, Hollywood produced, clown show didn’t draw any real public interest—and it didn’t; there was no there there—the rest are going to be almost entirely ignored. We can expect, as D/S/Cs become ever more desperate, the occasional fevered promise of a revelation that will change everything, that will, once and for all, finally prove Trump is the wellspring of all evil, but as with everything they’ve tried to do, that too will prove to be nothing of consequence, rehashed, failed, false accusations.
D/S/Cs, and a few pseudo-Republican useful idiots like Liz Cheney, have, in the immoral words of Chuck Schumer, sewn the whirlwind. We’ll be seeing the price they’re going to pay in the near future. Unlike what Schumer said about Supreme Court Justices, they do know what’s going to hit them, and the prime-time debacle was just one more attempt to avoid the consequences of focusing on attacking political enemies, which for them, is any and every American who does not fully support and praise them.
Maybe they should have put America first.
UPDATE, 06-11-22, 1040 MT: Here’s something else we’ll never hear from the Stalinist Committee, via Just The News:

Correia is a best selling author. His message is harsh, but represents many Americans who D/S/Cs ignore at their peril
FBI intelligence warning that Jan. 6 protesters might violently storm the Capitol, target lawmakers and blockade Democrats in tunnels was never sent to frontline police commanders and officers, but was quietly emailed the night before to a top aide to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, according to documents that raise new concern that politics trumped security preparedness in the fateful hours before the riot.
Capitol Police Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher emailed top Schumer aide Kelly Fado, now the Senate’s deputy sergeant of arms, at about 9:40 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2021 saying he wanted to ‘provide you visibility’ to new intelligence that an FBI threat analysis center had received from a website owner, according to documents obtained by Just the News.
The information explicitly warned that demonstrators had detailed maps of the tunnel systems around the Capitol frequented by lawmakers and their staffs and they were plotting to create a ‘perimeter’ for potential violence and to find ‘Democratic members early to block them from entering the Capitol.’ One point of entry the rioters were targeting was the Library of Congress, he warned.
Surely this information was shared with Republicans, otherwise this kind of tip would amount to a D/S/C conspiracy, allowing D/S/Cs to avoid danger, while exposing Republicans. Not so much:
Key Republican members of Congress told Just the News on Thursday they had been unaware of Gallagher’s tip-off to the Schumer aide and said it provided further evidence that the House Jan. 6 committee, which unveiled prime-time hearings Thursday night, had constricted an investigation to shield Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from accountability for the botched security they oversaw.
‘This is a really a shocking bombshell discovery … that shows the political nature of who received intelligence and who did not,’ Rep. Jim Banks, chairman of the influential House Republican Study Committee, told the ‘Just the News, Not Noise’ television show. ‘Remember the Capitol Police officers’ union chief said that they, the rank and file police officers, weren’t tipped off [to] the intelligence, that it was never shared with them.’
‘But it was shared with Chuck Schumer’s office, a Democrat leader in the Senate. I mean, this is unbelievable. It’s unfathomable to think that that intelligence was shared on a political basis to Democrat leaders, but not with anybody else. And that is a great example of the type of questions … that this sham committee should be investigating and digging into, but they’re not.’
Take the link, gentle readers and read the whole thing.
Mike my favorite is they accuse us of an insurrection/coup. Do they not realize if we had attempted such a thing we would probably have won? Unlike the D/S/C’s, we don’t need rent a thugs, we have warriors.
Dear Phil:
Indeed. It’s an odd coup that featured no weapons and where the plotters decided to go home after a few hours.
If the J6 committee had even a vague interest in “protecting the capitol,” the “report” would have focused on where security failed. Why quick-response teams couldn’t get their fancy gear from locked vehicles. How unarmed people were able to breach the capitol.
Serious committee members would have mentioned an obvious element: Thank God those who got inside the Capitol building were NOT bomb-toting or suicide-vest-wearing terrorists bent on killing hundreds of elected officials.
Has anything been done to improve security, Nancy or Liz? Crickets.
1. If you knew of any improvements having been made likely so would those actually trying to plan the next attack. Rather defeats the purpose, keeping you in the loop for no reason.
2. Yes.. thank God for a lot of things not working out that day. Maybe you should stay tuned in, in the event those crickets vanish down the line. If you’re still hearing crickets when all this is over, well, maybe it’s Tinnitus. That’s been known to block out a lot.
Dear Doug:
No one is asking anyone to give away security secrets, merely to identify those who through incompetence, or purposely, denied minimal, necessary security 18 months ago that it might never happen again.
As to what might be coming, I’ll be listening and watching, but I doubt I’ll see or hear anything. As I earlier noted, if they truly had the goods on Trump, we would have heard about it long ago. If after supposedly 1000 interviews they still have nothing, I doubt anything of consequence will be forthcoming.
Not all that sure they have to find Trump guilty leading to a conviction to discredit him. They can do what he’s done.. blather it about to plant the doubt.. that’s good enough.
Dear Doug:
But of course. If they can’t prosecute him, they hope to muddy the waters with innuendo and lies.
..or unmitigated truths.
Dear Doug:
Well, Biden said they believe in truth over facts, so I’m sure they think they’ve presented many “truths” already, mitigated or unmitigated. As for actual facts or the truth, we’ll wait patiently…
You know, regardless in whatever way some indictment may come down, you’d think Trump and his followers would appreciate the opportunity to present his defense in a court of law, to a jury of his peers, to show the world once and for all how victimized he has been by your D/S/C’s… rather than a repeat of the “rubber stamp” Senate “exoneration” of the two impeachment proceedings.
Dear Doug:
Sadly, the standard of probable cause for arrest, and even for prosecutors to be reasonably sure they can prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt are out the window when D/S/Cs are pursuing their political enemies. Do you believe Donald Trump could possibly get a fair trial in DC?
As to “rubber stamp” exonerations, impeach and trial are political acts. Therefore we have D/S/Cs impeaching Trump knowing they had no chance of convicting him.
So, you’re presuming that these D/S/C people have the power to affect court outcomes.. and even appeals to the Supreme Court? SCOTUS of late has shown little affection for Liberal interpretations. For the sake of argument, where would Trump get a “fair” trial.. Wyoming, perhaps?
“Therefore we have D/S/Cs impeaching Trump knowing they had no chance of convicting him.”
Of course impeachment is a political process. So to your comment above, if D/S/C’s went through the process knowing full well Trump would be exonerated in the Senate (pretty much not by vigorous debate or presentation of testimony, witnesses, and evidence, but by omission to complete that process as stated in the Constitution) then why did they.. those D/S/C’ers… do it at all?
Dear Doug:
D/S/Cs certainly think they have that power, even if they need to resort to threats and even assassination.
You know what I mean about fair trials in DC (Sussman).
You also know why they tried to impeach Trump. Their hatred for him knows no bounds, and it was only part of their plotting to damage him and prevent him from implementing his complete agenda.
Sussman? So, let me get this straight. If a jury doesn’t decide the way you want it to decide.. then it’s decision is somehow a corruption? And this is what Newsmax, FOX, Breitbart, et al tells you to believe?
I am perfectly ok.. should Trump get indicted on ANYTHING currently in the works or in the future… with him exercising his right to defend himself in a trial… because that’s in the Constitution. He can appeal to his heart’s content (which he often takes advantage of to delay the process). In fact, I trust a non-biased decision of a jury of his peers than I would if any of his appeals made it to SCOTUS… given SCOTUS are not his peers nor anyone else’s, and they are showing a Conservative bias. Nonetheless… even then, I accept their decision as final because it’s all about the Constitution.
What I don’t understand from you and others is all this presumption of corruption everywhere, across all institutions… under this consistent idea that it’s all about the this D/S/C hunger for power… and that the Trumpian Right is somehow going to deliver the country from evil… and to hell with compromise. Better to be a house divided than to give in to the bastards in any way… right? No wonder authoritarianism is in vogue these days… and democracy is simply in the way.
Dear Doug:
As Biden would say: “C’mon man!” You know what Sussman jurors said. You know his guilt was proved in court beyond any doubt.
Are you truly saying we don’t have a two-tiered justice system?
As I have so often said no one thinks Donald Trump or any other politician a savior. Cults of personality are for the Left.
How does one “compromise” on the rule of law? On the Constitution? All I’ve ever asked is for all Americans who would be American to honor both. That’s our representative republic, not authoritarianism.
“How does one “compromise” on the rule of law? On the Constitution? All I’ve ever asked is for all Americans who would be American to honor both.”
Then based on your considerable posts, that would be in the least 50% of Americans falling outside your definition of being an American.. or in the least living up to YOUR expectation of what defines an American… given that’s all you ask.

Dear Doug:
As always, I’ll let readers decide who is refusing to honor the Constitution, or if I do indeed “bounce around my [your] reasoning.”
Dear ThePermit:
Can’t do that. It would expose too much stupidity.
