We are now in the throes of full-scale national panic over the newest variant of the Covid virus: the Xi variant. Oh, excuse me. I mean the Omicron variant. We had to skip over the next portion of the Greek alphabet to Omicron to avoid making the head of the murderous Chinese Communist Party sad. As all right–left–thinking people know, even enforcing woke orthodoxy is nothing compared to appeasing Communist tyrants, or maybe it’s pretty much the same thing?
Let’s keep in mind the general progression of viral diseases. Once the pandemic-causing virus strain begins to wane, various mutations occur. They tend to be more contagious, but far less deadly.
Covid is, like various strains of the flu, always going to be with us. Some people, mostly the aged or people already weakened by other diseases, are going to succumb, others are going to suffer various degrees of symptoms, but are going to recover, and life, suffused with viruses and bacteria, goes on. Despite what decrepit dimwits like Joe Biden would tell us, we are not going to wipe out Covid or any other virus. We simply lack the knowledge and technology to banish this virus.
The “vaccines” thus far developed are not, in fact, vaccines. They do not provide immunity from infection, but merely lessen the severity of illness, and yes indeed, the vaccinated can catch, and spread, the virus, therefore Biden’s continuing whining about Covid being spread by the unvaccinated is nonsense, and has nothing whatever to do with science, which we are now told is actually the person of the mendacious troll, Dr. Fauci.
With this in mind, why do Bidenites continue to try to force everyone and their dog to be vaccinated, despite the indisputable fact natural immunity does confer the protection from infection current vaccines do not? I’ll explain shortly, but first, let’s see what Dr. Angelique Coetzee has to say:
As chair of the South African Medical Association and a GP of 33 years’ standing, I have seen a lot over my medical career.
But nothing has prepared me for the extraordinary global reaction that met my announcement this week that I had seen a young man in my surgery who had a case of Covid that turned out to be the Omicron variant.
This version of the virus had been circulating in southern Africa for some time, having been previously identified in Botswana.
But given my public-facing role, by announcing its presence in my own patient, I unwittingly brought it to global attention.
Quite simply, I have been stunned at the response – and especially from Britain.
And let me be clear: nothing I have seen about this new variant warrants the extreme action the UK government has taken in response to it.
No one here in South Africa is known to have been hospitalised with the Omicron variant, nor is anyone here believed to have fallen seriously ill with it.]skip]
The simple truth is: we don’t know yet anywhere near enough about Omicron to make such judgments or to impose such policies.
Because Dr. Coetzee is not running about, screaming, with her hair on fire, she’s obviously anti-science. Clearly, she, unlike Dr. Fauci, is not science.
In South Africa, we’ve retained a sense of perspective. We’ve had no new regulations or talk of lockdowns because we’re waiting to see what the variant actually means.
We’ve also become accustomed here to new Covid variants emerging. So when our scientists confirmed the discovery of yet another, nobody made a huge thing of it. Many people didn’t even notice.
But after Britain heard about it, the global picture started to change.[skip]
If, as some evidence suggests, Omicron turns out to be a fast-spreading virus with mostly mild symptoms for the majority of the people who catch it, that would be a useful step on the road to herd immunity.
We’ll learn in the next two weeks if that’s the case.
That sounds eminently reasonable, so of course, it must be ignored.
The worst situation – of course – would be a fast-spreading virus with severe infections. But that’s not where we are at the moment.
Science denier! SCIENCE DENIER!!!
Here in South Africa, what I and my GP colleagues are seeing doesn’t in any way warrant the knee-jerk reaction we’ve seen from the UK.
For one thing, we’re not – at least for now – treating patients who are severely ill.
Take my first Omicron case, the young man I mentioned earlier. It didn’t occur to him that he had Covid: he thought he’d had too much sun after working outside. After he tested positive, so did his wife and four-month-old baby.
So far, the patients who’ve tested positive for Omicron here have been mainly young men – a mixture of vaccinated and unvaccinated (though, in our statistics, ‘unvaccinated’ can also mean ‘single-vaccinated’).
Only yesterday, I saw five more patients who had tested positive for the new variant. They all had a very mild illness.[skip]
But the reality is that Covid is something we have to learn to live with. Look after yourself and get your vaccines. Above all, don’t panic – and that goes for governments as well.
“Covid is something we have to learn to live with.” Good advice, particularly the part about not panicking. Perhaps we could, instead of destroying our economy and innumerable lives, instead of hindering the education of our children, instead of obliterating fundamental liberties, we might focus on developing treatments for a disease we know is going to be around pretty much forever. And by the way, how serious is the spread of this disease in America?
A person in California became the first in the U.S. to have an identified case of the COVID-19 omicron variant, the White House announced Wednesday as scientists continue to study the risks posed by the new strain of the virus.
‘This is the first case of COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant detected in the United States,’ Dr. Anthony Fauci said at the White House. He said the person was a traveler who returned from South Africa on Nov. 22 and tested positive on Nov. 29.
Oh my God! ONE CASE!!! We’re all gonna die! What USA Today, and Fauci, are not telling us, is as in South Africa, the very few cases discovered world wide are presenting with very mild symptoms.
The announcement of the first U.S. case comes before President Joe Biden plans to outline his strategy on Thursday to combat the virus over the winter. Biden has tried to quell alarm over the omicron variant, saying it was a cause for concern but ‘not a cause for panic.’
Uh-huh. Which is why they’re panicking.
Biden and public health officials have grown more urgent in their pleas for more Americans to get vaccinated — and for those who have been vaccinated to get booster shots to maximize their protection against the virus.
But what about the rest of this hemisphere? Surely there are millions of cases, and we’re all gonna die?
Canada’s health minister says the country’s first two cases of omicron were found in Ontario after two individuals who had recently traveled from Nigeria tested positive.
So three known cases in the US and Canada. Maybe we’re not all gonna die? To be fair, I’m sure by the time this article is posted, more cases will have been found, but that’s to be expected. It’s a virus.
What’s happening here? We know the vaccines aren’t vaccines. They don’t provide immunity. Vaccinated people get, and spread, the virus. The only way they differ from the unvaccinated is if they are infected or re-infected, they tend to have less severe symptoms. Therefore, the unvaccinated are no danger to the vaccinated, and the unvaccinated, who have had and recovered from the disease, are in the best shape of all: they have natural immunity. Biden’s claim the unvaccinated are somehow dangerous is anything but scientific.
We also know there are going to be many mutated strains of the virus, and we have no idea whether current vaccines, or any that may eventually be developed, will have any real effect on them, just as yearly flu vaccines do not provide universal protection against every possible strain of the flu.We have never experienced a response to a virus like that of Covid, and it’s now clear to sane people it was a political, rather than, medical response. It gave D/S/Cs the excuse they needed to enable massive election fraud. It worked for them in 2020, and they were able to place an elderly man who was not too bright to being with, and was clearly suffering from progressive dementia, in the White House. And no, his condition has not improved.
It’s all about power, and D/S/Cs are not going to give it up without a fight. They rode Covid into the White House, and now that the public sees them for what they are, and is poised to sweep them out of power in 2022, they’re desperate. Could the Omicron variant be the new pandemic that allows them to once again rig the 2022 elections? Obviously they’re no longer depending on the Delta variant. That’s their story and they’re going to do everything they can to stick to it.
Masking, social distancing, bankrupting businesses, shutting down schools and our economy didn’t work. These measures could never work, but our self-imagined elite imposed them anyway. The result? Far more Americans have died under Joe Biden than under Donald Trump. Florida, with no such restrictions, has the lowest Covid infection rate in the nation. So what do our betters plan to do? Impose the same measures—and more–that didn’t work the first time. Albert Einstein said it well:
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Joe Biden didn’t say it well:
I’ve seen more — (laughs) — of Dr. Fauci than my wife. We kid each other, but — (laughter) — they look — who’s President? Fauci. (Laughter.)
But all kidding aside, I sincerely mean it.
Will a never-ending pandemic panic over an illness that is apparently less debilitating than the common cold or flu destroy our economy, our national identity and security, and kill untold millions?
How can we tell our government doesn’t give a damn about public health, about the American people? How can we tell this is all about control and power? Besides this, I mean:
All the lockdowns, masks, vaccination mandates, all of it applies only to citizens. Illegal immigrants, a million plus thus far—that we know of—are home free and transported all over the country at taxpayer expense. This includes more than 80,000 unvetted Afghans—thus far–we can’t identify. They’re exempt; we’re not.
Delta, Omicron, there are plenty of letters left in the Greek alphabet, easily enough to last through 2024 and beyond. We’ve already skipped over the one that might annoy the Chinese. Oh. That might also be an indicator about the priorities of our government, might it not?
I have lost so many friends online and in real life over this COVID debate that I have begun to suspect that it has always been, in some sense, a proxy issue for a deeper mis-alignment of world views. Where folks have stacked up on this has been utterly consistent with their opinions on a lot of other issues. I mean, I am not sure anymore what has been a cause and what has been an effect. That so many have eagerly accepted the nuking of the economy, their childrens futures, and their connections with their “friends” for such a minor risk has been disturbing, to say the least. Maybe it should have been seen as revealing.
I have asked myself, “Why were so many people in the 1st world so primed to go along with this?” As they obviously have been.
Why have so many people let Dr. Fauci get away with being serially wrong about everything and still look to him as a kind of savior? Have they been needing a savior-narrative more than they knew? This would not be the first time mass derangement took hold of a demoralized population. Are so many people in the modern world that demoralized? Maybe they are.
My argument about the meaning of the hospitalization rates for COVID might be hard for some people outside of medicine to follow but I am sure that everybody at the CDC learned about this historical pattern when they took epidemiology 101 and I doubt they have all forgotten it. Yet I have not heard anything in the mainstream press about it.
My hope for the future is that when a true history of this period is written guys like Fauci will be put down into the same underground reputational jail as Joseph Mengele and Fritz Haber and that all the people who said they did not want to bring children into such a scary world did not actually do so — and thereby allowed sane people to repopulate the Earth.
Dear Rum:
The true measure of character is not how one behaves when everything is easy, but when it’s hard. The true measure of friendship, which is informed by character, is the same.
Perhaps we’re better off knowing who is trustworthy before things really get out of hand.
Just a note here, related to what has been said above. The most important factor in an effective fighting force is uniformity. You should probably apply that to those you associate with.
Dear steelpencil:
Yes.
Mr. Rum makes some very good observations.. and asks the pertinent questions. I don’t one bit wish to get into some big threaded discourse on who is right or wrong in any of this because a lot of this are moral decisions and everyone in here (that I know of) are adults and can decide matters of their own life an death accordingly.. and how they choose to fit into society… and what stats to believe in. But my point regarding Rum’s remarks does bring to light the relative “mystery” as to why this pandemic has become so politically aligned to the national divide. The stats are consistently showing the vast majority of folks getting slammed with Covid, and dying, are anti-vaxxers…. and red states having 50% more deaths from this than blue states. Sure.. in that group are also a number of folks who simply are apprehensive and reluctant for more cautious reasons.. but the majority are the.. welll… of the “Fauci-is-a-Mengle” mindset. I personally know of three people in my own social bubble that have been staunch Trumpian ant-vaxxers and all three got clobbered with it… all three lived through it.. and now all three regret not having taken the vaccine. So I am asking the question.. how has this become so political, with so much more a pronounced defiance with Conservatives?
(I am actually asking here, so please spare me the “Liberals want to take away our freedoms and destroy the country and Conservatives naturally know better” nonsense. We are all humans before political party and Covid cares not about party affiliation.)
what planet are you living on, Doug?
Please explain how countries with very high vax rates are seeing higher case loads, like Israel and Gibraltar. And how Florida has the best numbers in the US with no shutdown or masking.
More Americans have died of covid this year than last, yet the vax was introduced in January. It is clear the benefits of the vaccine either wear off or are evaded by the virus, or both.
Dr Geert Vanden Bossche has predicted that this exact scenario would occur. He says that the vax primes your immune system to react to the original virus only, but this is a highly mutable respiratory virus. Measles does not mutate so it was easier to effectively vaccinate against. He fears that mass vaccination with an ineffective vaccine in the midst of a pandemic is creating enormous and unnatural evolutionary pressure on the virus.
Dear Doug:
The virus doesn’t discriminate. It infects the vaccinated and unvaccinated, and there are plenty of both in every state. One might reasonably believe people who choose not to be vaccinated in blue states are far less willing to admit it.
The real pandemic is the mass hysteria over a germ that causes the same symptoms as the common cold or flu, and that has a 99% survival rate.
Dear Tom:
What you said.
Trial run.
Doug
A basic mistake is seeing “States” in the US as red or blue. The reality is that every State is a mixture of red and blue zones. If the coloring was done right, every State would be somewhere on the scale of various shades of purple instead of either red or blue.
Now, if one ignores State boundaries and look closely at the more relevant questions some facts become hyper-obvious.
1. Advanced age, obesity/metabolic syndrome, and low household income are the strongest correlates with poor outcomes. Old, poor, fat people are more adversely affected by everything else one can think of, so there is that. At any rate, knowing what State a person lives in does nothing to help predict outcomes beyond what looking at those factors can tell us. Have you ever visited Mississippi or Alabama?
2. mRNA vaccines have such a transient effect that “fully” vaxxed people join the ranks of the unwashed (sorry, unvaxxed) pretty soon regardless of their moral purity. Being 9 months post vax is better than nothing, but I doubt anyone thinks it is better than losing the extra 30 lbs and loading up on zinc and vitamin D. Again, it is not just being unvaxxed that puts you at risk.
3. Everyone is eventually going to be exposed to this because available vaccines apparently do nothing to prevent its spread and it is a respiratory virus especially designed to efficiently bind to human lung tissue. My advice is to plan accordingly.
I have angered the most friends by saying that if you mandate mask wearing at school it will be forever and if you vax your kids they will “need” a booster shot every year for the rest of their lives.
Maybe they hate being reminded that there can be a huge cost to losing ones nerve so completely.
Well, wait… I really have little interest in a pissing match over Covid opinions and who’s science is more real.. My question was simply to carry forward a few of your observations and question.. by simply asking why all this seems to be divided by political ideology. I mean, you make a sincere point about friends and family becoming divided to the point of some level of estranged alienation.
This is honestly one time I am trying not to be confrontational..
Dear Doug:
Surely political ideology has a bearing on issues of liberty and the infringement thereof, but should not apply to science. The problem is our institutions have played fast and loose with science, and in so doing, lost their legitimacy. This is not a good thing for our Republic.
Yes. However. “Science” has been redefined.
Doug,
It’s called mass formation, which is a psychological term. Here’s a long explanation. The author describes how it occurred in Nazi Germany and the USSR. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uLDpZ8daIVM
But you won’t like it. If you believe Fauci then you’ve been hypnotized.
Here’s an excellent discussion of the current state of affairs, with an international panel of experts.
And it’s important to ask why this sort of open discussion is completely absent within our government?

Dear The other Phil:
That’s easy: our current government constructs their own reality and tries to force everyone to live in it. Their “science” is the narrative of the moment.
1. If government is “We the people..” who is constructing what reality, and for what purpose?
2. What led you to that conclusion?
Dear Doug:
Please. You know precisely who and what the current government is. As to your second question, consider Red Jen Psaki claiming the cause of organized smash and grab gangs is the pandemic.
Given the billions living on this planet there is likely at least one full-fledged accredited, published, scientist who will support the science that the world is flat… then let’s suppose government agency NASA, with all the scientific minds they have, comes up with the idea the the Earth is round.. then because you distrust government you end up finding the Earth-is-flat scientist’s blog, and you prefer to believe him.
Or, let’s try this… when Covid first came out you opted to not believe the government because they are all run by Liberals hell-bent on destroying America, so you search for “objective” alternatives you could believe in?
I mean, I’m trying to understand a non-political, non-scientist, objective mindset that would immediately dismiss government as being corrupt.. and all their scientists equally so.. in order to favor a more “agreeable” science that fits in with their political bias.
No. I knew they were lying almost immediately because of my professional experience (specifically about masks and lockdowns).
I trust Geert Vanden Bossche because his predictions have come true. Specifically that the vaccine would reduce cases at first, and then they would explode in the vaccinated.
You asked. Take it or leave it. But don’t whine about it.
Enjoy your booster shots every 3 months FOREVER.
Please share.. what kind of experience with masks and shutdowns?
Oh.. not sure I am aware of that statistic about cases exploding among the vaccinated. When/where has that happened?
I’m not posting my CV, so you’ll just have to take this for what it’s worth. Masks are the easy one. Using a cloth or surgical mask to stop an airborne virus is like using a chain link fence to stop mosquitos. It was, and is, an absurd idea. Anyone pushing them after the first few weeks of the outbreak is a liar or a fool. Surgical masks help reduce infections in an operating room, as part of a whole system with highly filtered air and tightly controlled airflow patterns. Their only utility outside of an OR it to protect the wearer from large droplets generated by someone else sneezing or coughing (which is completely different from the transmission of an airborne virus that’s in the 0.1-0.3 micron range).
And the idea that one can hide from an upper respiratory virus that’s already present in your community is also absurd. Everyone will eventually be exposed to it. Everyone. It really is that simple. Unless you plan to live in your cabin in the woods, alone, forever.
As for the exploding cases, the places with the highest vaccination rates are seeing an ever increasing number of cases (e.g. Israel). That’s wasn’t the result that we were promised. Just like they never talked about boosters until it became obvious that the original vax provided only temporary protection. In other words, the public health “experts” are just guessing.
According to Dr Vanden Boscche, it’s a trend that will continue to accelerate because the vaccine has suppressed the innate immune system of those who have been vaxxed, placing them at greater risk of negative outcomes, and has created unnatural evolutionary pressure on the virus, placing everyone at risk. At least I think that’s what he’s saying. And he predicted this exact outcome. You can check the links that I provided for a much better explanation. Or not.
Thanks for taking the time to reply that, Mr. Rum. I’ll consider the links. I watched one Phil provided as well.
Rum,
Vitamin D levels are apparently a major factor in surviving an infection. Since D is fat soluble, this may be part of why obesity is a big factor, because it’s absorbed by the fat cells and doesn’t enter the system. It also explains why blacks and Hispanics have been hit harder, because their darker skin limits the amount of D transmitted from sunlight.
Zinc and C are also crucial. Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr Pierre Kory, and Dr Tom Cole have been talking about this since very early on. Daniel Horowitz has interviewed each of them many times on his show. The podcasts are readily available. Dr Syed Haider was awesome on podcast #984.
And check out America’s Frontline Doctors (.org, not .com) and the FLCCC. They have additional resources.
I’m not a doctor, but it seems to me that the single most important thing we can do at this time is to stop anyone who’s unvaccinated from getting the jab, especially a healthy child. Jabbing a healthy child is a crime against humanity.
