You remember this line from Judge Dredd in 1995, don’t you gentle readers? It’s memorable not only for Stallone’s drawling, over the top delivery, but because it was the utterance of a man who embodied this aphorism, attributed to many:
Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Judge Dredd eventually understood what power had done to him. He learned he long ago left behind devotion to justice in favor of ego, and he changed, became once again what he became a street judge to be. He wasn’t the law, merely its custodian, its servant.

Is there any reason to believe Dr. Anthony “I’m Science” Fauci will experience a similar understanding? He’s done far more damage than fictional Judge Dredd ever imagined doing, and he has the entire D/S/C establishment behind him, not because he’s the epitome of righteousness, though I’m quite sure he believes that of himself, but because he’s politically useful.
This is not the first time Fauci has called himself the embodiment of science. Not only does hubris—excessive pride–of this rank cry out for Nemesis—divine retribution—it’s actually the embodiment of something else: the conceit of the self-imagined elite, people who think themselves intellectually and morally superior to Normal Americans. They’re people who think themselves imbued with a divine mandate to rule over lesser beings unable to know what is good for them. Such people are dangerous when they put on the cloak of their secular god: science. This is so because for them, science is not a never-ending process of inquiry bound by rules of logic, fact and experimentation.
In actual science, every idea, every hypothesis, every theory must be falsifiable. It must be possible to prove it wrong by subsequent, competent, repeatable experimentation and observation. Any idea, any policy that is non-falsifiable, that cannot possible be proved wrong, is not science. It’s the opposite: politics, which must be ever changeable for often malicious reasons.
Unfortunately for mankind, the very nature of D/S/C thought–Marxism and its socialist and communist children are its inspiration—is non-falsifiable. It cannot possibly be in error; it cannot possibly be proved wrong; it cannot possibly fail, because it is formulated by the self-imagined elite, by “scientific communists.” Therefore, D/S/Cs, just as Trofim Lysenko did, create their own reality and demand everyone else live in it. Such demands are often enforced by the full power of the state. Fortunately, America is not yet to the point of murdering Normals who expect adherence to actual science, but our governmental institutions, including the National Institutes of Health, which Fauci rules, have been weaponized on that path.
Senator Ted Cruz
Among the Normals making such outrageous demands is Senator Ted Cruz, among the most brilliant lawyers of our time. More recently, Fauci appeared on a reliably D/S/C TV talk show and again asserted he is science:

Cruz is unquestionably correct. There is, sadly and in contravention of the rule of law, no way the Garland DOJ will prosecute any D/S/C water carrier for perjury. We know Fauci is a serial liar. He has admitted many of his lies about Covid, claiming he made them for the most noble of reasons, because he’s morally and intellectually superior and Normals can’t take the truth. There’s that hubris thing again.
Those schooled in mythology, or simply in the Bible—the owner’s manual for humanity–know about Hubris. Proverbs 16:18 explains:
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Sadly, we’re going to have to endure Fauci for some time to come. I’m sure Fauci considers himself indispensable, but Charles De Gaulle understood the nature of indispensability:
The graveyards are full of indispensable men.
I’m sure there might be one or two capable people to replace Fauci. How long will Fauci be in a position to damage America? As long as D/S/Cs find him useful. They always bayonet their wounded on the political battlefield, and usually, it is they who wounded them in the first place. The moment Fauci can no longer prove useful in damaging D/S/C enemies—at least half of America—he’ll be thrown out the door.
The wisest of athletes, singers, performers and public servants of all kinds, gracefully retire when they realize they can no longer perform at the necessary level, at the level they have themselves set for honorable and useful contribution. Those possessed by hubris, those who think themselves the embodiment of science, of any body of ability or knowledge, are incapable of that kind of wisdom, and in their delusion do great harm. The higher their position, the greater and more widespread the harm.
Were he wise, were he honorable, if he had the common sense and decency he so disdains in Normal Americans, he would have retired long ago. Fauci is less than a month shy of 81 years old. He would be wise to take Oliver Cromwell’s advice, advice given in Parliament April 20, 1653:
You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately… Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!
Cromwell also said, in 1650:
I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.
Any bets, gentle readers, on whether Fauci is capable of learning the lessons of the Word of God, Lord Acton, Charles De Gaulle or Oliver Cromwell? Ted Cruz?

I cannot find the article now ( I suspect the source has been de-platformed) but it featured a highly credentialed infectious disease guy predicting with precision how Covid 19 would play out after its mainly airborn spread and high transmissibility were worked out somewhere in the spring of 2020.
He explained that new pathogens that start moving thru hosts with minimal natural immunity the outcome always manifests a case infection rate-of-increase curve and the subsequent rate of decrease curve will have a very characteristic shape when there are no treatments or vaccines or interventions available to get in the way of nature taking its course. It looks like a Bell Curve with a slightly extended right side.The reasons why these curves are so commonly seen is something of a mystery
I will go out on a limb and state that the only accurate indication of the rising and falling of the rate of the disease is to plot out the numbers of hospitalization and days is hospital because the criteria-for hospitalization and because testing PCR schemes are wildly inaccurate as a correllate regarding clinical impact because, the tests are not so accurate and 2. they are not given to the random population which tells us more about the actual progress of the Danger We Are IN!! For whats its worth, the rate of covid deaths is the sloppiest data there is here because 1. they normally link every car crash. gang shooting death where a Pos PCR test was found goes straight to the covid stats regardless of the true situation. And treatment has improved enough over time to improve on the expected deaths with the same disease burden.
Now for those predicted curves: You can find good clean hospitalization data-curves on line from a few large hospital system. There is usually some digging required.

Lesson: The banned guy made the righteous prediction 2 years ago that if no effective measure were ever found and put in place the curves would look exactly like the ones he lifted off a standard first year infectious disease text. So far they have.
