Actually, gentle readers, I’m a bit tired of writing about Liz Cheney, who is, as Rep. Elise Stefanik recently said, a Pelosi Republican.  Enter “liz cheney” in the SMM homepage search bar to find all my recent articles about her.  Unfortunately, Cheney continues to do so many jaw-droppingly stupid things, things that make one doubt she’s an actual Republican/Conservative, so I’ve little choice.

The mere mention of her name in Wyoming is highly likely to provoke groans, scoffing and eye-rolling, and that only from excruciatingly polite Wyomingites.  Most are a bit more–earthy.  Breitbart.com reports on that reality:

Seventy percent of Wyoming Republican primary voters have a negative view of controversial Never Trump Republican Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), according to a poll exclusively obtained by Breitbart News on Monday.

Club for Growth Action released a poll, which found that 70 percent of Wyoming GOP primary voters view her negatively, only 26 percent viewing her in a positive light. This marks a five percent increase in Wyoming primary voters’ negative view of the Never Trump Republican. Cheney has a 44 percent net negative favorability among Wyoming Republicans.

From what I’m hearing, that figure is far more conservative than Cheney.

The Club for Growth Action poll found that there is a strong Republican appetite to replace Cheney as their at-large congresswoman.

Fifty-three percent of Wyoming primary voters would replace Cheney regardless of who her opponent is, 27 percent would consider another candidate, and just 17 percent would remain committed to voting for Cheney.

Another poll conducted by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates, the polling firm for Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, found that Cheney is the most unpopular Republican in the country. Her unfavorability is net negative 43 percent, compared to Donald Trump Jr.’s 55 percent positive rating.

WPA Intelligence conducted the poll on behalf of Club for Growth PAC by polling 409 likely Wyoming Republican primary voters from July 22 to 22. The margin of error for the poll is 4.9 percent with a 95 percent confidence level.

“The most unpopular Republican in the country.”  That’s quite an accomplishment for someone from Wyoming.  But golly SMM, why is she so unpopular?  Breitbart helps provide the answer with her own words and actions:

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Tuesday lectured fellow Republican lawmakers at the opening of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the Capitol, urging them to remember ‘our children are watching.’

General rule: whenever a politician invokes “the children,” they’re pushing something that can’t possibly stand on its own merits.

‘I pray that we all remember our children are watching. As we carry out this solemn and sacred duty entrusted to us, our children will know who stood for truth and they will inherit the nation we hand to them: a republic, if we can keep it,’ Cheney said.

Wyomingites are more than smart enough to know who is trying to damage the Republic: the D/S/Cs who refuse to call it a Republic, rather substituting “democracy,” and whose kangaroo court committee, to which Cheney is giving faux bipartisan cover, seeks to provide them ammunition to do it faster and uglier.

Cheney, who has become somewhat of a pariah in the GOP, continued to lecture her fellow Republicans at the hearing.

‘No member of Congress should now attempt to defend the indefensible, obstruct this investigation or whitewash what happened that day,’ she said. ‘We must act with honor and duty and in the interest of our nation.’

SMM has always said those that committed actual crimes should be appropriately punished, but must be afforded all due process and fair trial rights. But I’ve also consistently maintained we must not exaggerate or lie about what actually happened.  There was no insurrection, and despite the media and government’s hype, not a single person has been charged with insurrection or sedition.  Most have been charged with mere misdemeanors.

We must get to the objective truth. We must overcome the many efforts we are already seeing to cover up and obscure the facts,’ she said. ‘Those participating in lawlessness and violence must be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.’

Yeah.  The problem is it is the committee that seeks to coverup and obscure the facts. Wyoming folks are rather big on honesty.  That’s one of the great things about living here.  Liz Cheney doesn’t, which might help explain her lack of appreciation for the concept.  Once again, Breitbart exposes Cheney’s real agenda:

Cheney [on ABC’s “Good Morning America”] stressed the importance of getting to the bottom of what led to the riot. She said [Rep. Jim] Jordan could be a material witness and that [House Minority Leader Kevin] McCarthy [both Republicans] could be subpoenaed.

‘You know, this is absolutely not a game,’ Cheney emphasized. “This is deadly serious. There are some in my party, including Leader McCarthy, who continue to act as though this is about partisan politics. I think it’s really sad. I think it’s a disgrace. You know, this Capitol was attacked. It was attacked while we were counting electoral votes, and the American people deserve the truth. They deserve to know exactly what happened. They deserve to know minute by minute what decisions were being made both here and in the White House, and they deserve to get to the bottom of it. And we have to make sure it never happens again. We’ve got to make sure we defend our republic and that we defend the rule of law.’

Indeed.  We need to know why Pelosi repeatedly refused President Trump’s offers of National Guard troops and why the Capital Police were not allowed to adequately prepare.  We need to know who killed Ashli Babbitt and why.  We need to know why the leftist mobs who actually did far, far worse on many occasions in the past—in the Capital building and elsewhere in DC–have never been prosecuted.  We need to know why Americans are being treated like political prisoners in communist dictatorships.  We’re also going to need to know why we’re not going to get those, and many other, answers.

‘I think that Congressman Jordan may well be a material witness,’ she added. ‘He’s somebody who was involved in a number of meetings in the lead-up to what happened on January 6, involved in planning for January 6, certainly for the objections that day, as he said publicly. So, he may well be a material witness. We will on this committee follow the facts wherever they go and get to the bottom of it. And, George, we’ll do it in a nonpartisan way, which is absolutely crucial for the future of the nation.’

Good grief, what hypocrisy.  Take the link where you’ll find Cheney also said she and her D/S/C pals might subpoena Trump and McCarthy, which is a crude and stupid attempt at intimidation.  Here’s a revealing Cheney quote from Victory Girls Blog:

We cannot leave the violence of January 6th — and its causes — uninvestigated. The American people deserve the full and open testimony of every person with knowledge of the planning and preparation for January 6th.

Except Nancy Pelosi and any other Democrat or their minions, of course.

We must know what happened here at the Capitol. We must also know what happened every minute of that day in the White House — every phone call, every conversation, every meeting leading up to, during, and after the attack.

Somehow I doubt they’ll be mentioning all of Mr. Trump’s attempts to send the Guard to help, or all of the calls the former Chief of the Capital Police, who Pelosi promptly fired, made begging for help.

Honorable men and women have an obligation to step forward. If those responsible are not held accountable, and if Congress does not act responsibly, this will remain a cancer on our Constitutional Republic, undermining the peaceful transfer of power at the heart of our democratic system. We will face the threat of more violence in the months to come, and another January 6th every four years.

Said the BLM supporter…

Let’s review: President Trump peacefully vacated the White House, and the “insurrection” lasted only a few hours.  Thereafter the Congress finished its business and went home.  Talking about electoral integrity is not a threat to the Republic, quite the opposite. The only threat of future violence will be that provoked by a partisan attempt to slander, persecute and prosecute half or more of the American public. And by all means, let’s hear the testimony of the many Capital Police officers shown on video letting people into the Capital and politely chatting with them within, rather than a few hand picked, rather inarticulate puppets quoting from prepared, rehearsed scripts.   Let’s visit another Brietbart article:

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Tuesday on CNN’s ‘The Lead’ that she believed Republicans denying the severity of the January 6 Capitol riot and former President Donald Trump’s responsibility were ‘shameful.’

Anchor Jake Tapper said, ‘One of the things I find so troubling about all of this is you and Adam Kinzinger, and others are saying that they tried to steal the election, these MAGA forces tried to steal the election once, and they’re going to try again. And we don’t hear Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise and Elise Stefanik say, ‘no, no, no, we would never do that again.’ There is zero attempts at reassuring people that what you are suggesting is not true.’

That would be because Republicans have not tried to steal any election.  That’s why D/S/Cs are so panicky about any election audits: they have absolute confidence they were entirely honest and lawfully done, so audits that would prove that must be shut down.  Let’s see what Cheney, great defender of the Constitution and Republic, replied:

Look, in some ways, I think it’s actually even worse than that, Jake. I think that we’re in a situation where the people that you mentioned seem to view this as some sort of a partisan political game. And as every American who watched saw this morning, this is really deadly serious. This is a situation where the institution’s held, but it was a close-run thing. And as the chairman said, we didn’t have a peaceful transfer of power. We had an insurrection. We had an assault on the Capitol. Today you had members of Congress, Republican members of Congress actually protesting in front of the Justice Department on behalf of the people who were here and who had been arrested because they participated in the riot and in the insurrection. That’s a stunning and indefensible turn of events.’

Right.  An “insurrection” without weapons, that lasted a few hours while most of the insurrectionists saw the sights and chatted pleasantly with Capital Police Officers.  It was an insurrection where the only person killed was an unarmed female veteran, murdered by a panicky government agent.  An insurrection so damaging the Capital was open for business the next day, as usual.  An insurrection that didn’t prevent, for a second, Joe Biden from taking the Oath of Office.  That’s what “a close-run thing” it was.  Oh, and the few Republicans protesting are protesting the banana republic tactics of the FBI and DOJ in keeping Americans locked up without bail for months when murderers are being released throughout the rest of the country.  Cheney is a blatant liar.  Wyomingites don’t like that.

After playing a video from the press conference, Tapper asked, ‘What’s your reaction when you hear them try to blame Pelosi for an insurrection incited and inspired and even directed in some ways by Donald Trump?’

Cheney said, ‘If I were saying the things that you just played, I’d be deeply ashamed of myself. What happened is absolutely clear. We had, as we heard this morning, just intolerable cruelty, a mob that was assembled by President Trump, was provoked by him. He lit the flame for what happened. We’ve seen that not just in the speech on the ellipse but throughout. What this committee needs to understand is exactly what the details were of the planning and the financing. But for anybody to be suggesting that somehow he wasn’t responsible, I think it’s shameful.’

Republicans are blaming Pelosi—who is in charge of the Capital Police—for doing nothing to protect the Capital, for refusing multiple offers of National Guard protection from President Trump, and many, many pleas from the Capital Police Chief for outside assistance.  Had she done her job, no one would have gotten into the building.  Actually, maybe she was doing her job: exactly what D/S/Cs wanted.

Again, Cheney is a liar.  Tapper is too, of course.  Take the link to this article to see Cheney, once again, wrapping herself in the very Constitution she’s helping D/S/Cs destroy.  I thought protest was the highest form of patriotism?  Let’s visit Fox News where we see a bit of the truth, for a change:

Rep. Elise Stefanik called fellow Republican House member Liz Cheney a ‘Pelosi pawn’ after Cheney criticized Stefanik for saying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is to blame for the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

‘And when it comes to Liz Cheney,’ Stefanik told Sean Hannity Tuesday evening on his Fox News program. ‘She is a Pelosi Republican, a Pelosi pawn at this point. She does not represent the Republican conference, or Republican voters, or the American people.’

No.  No she doesn’t, and don’t get me started on that weeping idiot Kinzinger.

Here’s a bit more of the truth Liz Cheney can’t quite seem to grasp:

[Republicans] are not focused on protecting the speaker of the House, who is a lame-duck speaker. We want truth, accountability and we want to make sure that the U.S. Capitol is secure as the people’s house and that the violence on January 6 never happens again,’ she added.

‘Nancy Pelosi bears responsibility because we know that as early as December, there was information and intelligence that there were potential security threats and the Capitol was not going to be secure on January 6th,’ she added.

In other words, Republicans are not claiming Pelosi is responsible for causing the events of January 6.  They’re pointing out she could have stopped it cold, and didn’t, another fact to which Cheney is obviously blind.

What’s going on here?  There are several probabilities.  Cheney knows unless D/S/Cs can pull off massive election fraud in Wyoming—unlikely—she’s going down to epic, flaming electoral defeat, and like all good D/S/Cs, she’s not going to lose gracefully.  She knows it’s the end of her political career, a career to which she is entitled, damn it!  So like John McCain, she’s going to spit in the eye of her Party and of Normal Americans, even—especially—if it will harm America, the America she obviously feels has disappointed her by not living up to her exacting standards of democracy.  Not only is she a poor human being, just like McCain, she’s suffering from a terminal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, which as a self-inflicted disability, is no excuse.

But that’s OK.  I’m sure D/S/Cs are, under the table, promising her a variety of lucrative positions in business, academia or even D/S/C politics in the future.  Of course, D/S/Cs tend to forget their promises when useful idiots are no longer useful…
