Well gentle readers, I have a bumper crop of stupid for you this time.  Let’s hold our noses and plunge right in with this from Legal Insurrection:

Gwen Berry, a hammer thrower who qualified for the U.S. Olympic team during the trials, apparently is trying out for the wrong country’s Olympic team.  During the trials, she turned away from the American flag and said she was ‘pissed’ that the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ was played while she stood on the podium for a bronze trial medal.

Berry says it felt like a ‘set up’ to be forced to endure the horrific torture of seeing the flag and of hearing the national anthem . . . . of the country whose Olympic team she wants to join. Surreal.

Nah: common.  She’s looking for her Colin Kaepernick payoff, endorsement deals with Nike, for example, which has just confirmed it’s bought and paid for by Communist China. 

Gwendolyn Berry said she felt like the national anthem playing at the podium was a ‘set up.’

‘They said they were going to play it before we walked out, then they played it when we were out there,’ Berry said. ‘But I don’t really want to talk about the anthem because that’s not important. The anthem doesn’t speak for me. It never has.’

Ah.  Good.  Then we can arrange to keep Berry from “speaking for”—representing—America.  It would be wrong to put her through such a harrowing, racist experience again.  It was not, by the way, a “setup” to force poor Berry to actually behave like an adult American and show proper respect for the symbols of our country.  The Anthem was played at that particular time, by all accounts, because that was when it was scheduled to be played that particular day.  It takes a special kind of narcissist to imagine America should ask their permission to play the National Anthem at any time or place.

Oh, and Berry, raised in Ferguson, Missouri, tells us the Michael Brown case awakened her wokeness.  Obviously, another example of someone who can see only skin color regardless of the facts.  Even the Obama DOJ, until the Biden/Harris/Whoever Administration—Joe Biden, Temporary President—the most racist in American history, was forced to rule the police justified in that shooting.  They very much wanted to bury the officer, but the facts were too clear.  The SMM Brown archive is here, for those able to accept facts and that want to discover the truth about that case.

‘My purpose and my mission is bigger than sports,’ Berry said. ‘I’m here to represent those … who died due to systemic racism. That’s the important part. That’s why I’m going. That’s why I’m here today.’

I see.  Sports is merely a vehicle to give Berry the opportunity to spit on the country that gave her the opportunity to do what only a tiny portion of the population will ever get to do: represent the United States, the most prosperous, free national ever to exist, at the Olympic games.  All praise the superior morality of Gwen Berry!

There have been many, many nights of rioting in DC over the past year, riotous behavior has been permitted, and absolutely nobody who’s been paying even cursory attention to recent events believes otherwise. Least of all [DC Mayor] Muriel Bowser.

She was testifying about DC statehood, which is unconstitutional and will never happen anyway. If she really thought it was a good idea, she wouldn’t resort to such ridiculous lies to push it.

I’m sure a near total lack of rioting in DC–January 6 does not count—will come as a surprise to the residents of DC—even those that haven’t been rioting.  Our brave new woke military at work:  

Uh, what exactly is this “white rage,” about which Milley speaks?  Is it like other often asserted, but virtually never seen phenomena like “white supremacy,” Q-ANON, “systemic racism,” and “white privilege?”  It is the case, as it is with all the others, the demand far, far exceeds the supply, so people in authority have to make it up?

Or is General Milley just another ass-kissing office chair warrior, far more interested in a multi-million dollar, cushy, post-retirement job in the defense industry than the welfare of our troops and our nation?  Somehow, inspiring racial division in the ranks doesn’t seem to foster unit cohesion, but what do I know?  I was just an enlisted guy decades ago.

On Thursday [06-24-21], a black police officer in Portland opened fire at a white man who charged him with a screwdriver. Yet it seems antifa got the wrong memo. At least 50 protesters gathered at the Motel 6 where the black cop shot the white man, apparently gearing up for a violent riot in the name of racial justice. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB), likely desperate to de-escalate the situation, rushed to Twitter with the important news that would bring peace to the situation: The victim was white.

Oh.  The cops killed a white guy trying to kill them, so they beg the mob not to riot.  Right.

And in the Cultural Suicide department for this week:

German authorities are baffled: a knife-wielding man, identified in the German media as ‘Jibril A.,’ stabbed three people to death and injured five others in Würzburg, Germany, on Friday. Police and intelligence officials have no idea why he did it. Yes, he was screaming, ‘Allahu akbar!’ during his attacks, and yes, he told police interrogators after he was arrested that he had now carried out his ‘jihad,’ but really, what does that even mean? The German-language Tagesspiegel reported Saturday that ‘the motive for the fatal knife attack in Würzburg on Friday has still not been fully clarified.’ Of course it hasn’t. After all, Islam is a religion of peace.

Of course.  We may never know the motive for this attack.  Those silly Germans.  It’s a good thing that sort of idiocy could never happen in America.

Speakers at Towson University’s virtual “Antiracist Pedagogy Symposium” criticized university writing curriculum and programs for being racist and perpetuating Whiteness.

The event occurred on June 17.

April Baker-Bell, associate Professor of Language, Literacy, and English Education at Michigan State University, argued that idea of Standard English among teachers is used to maintain racist assumptions about ‘Black language.’

Remember the “Ebonics” craze?  You know: “He be,” “she be,” “dat ho be?”  It has never really died; it has just been recycled:

Bell stated it is evident that ‘anti-Blackness that is used to diminish black language of Black students in classrooms is not separate from the rampant and deliberate anti-black racism and violence inflicted upon black people in society.’

‘Teacher attitudes include assumptions that Black students are somehow linguistically, morally, and intellectually inferior because they communicate in Black language,’ said Bell.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania English professor Cristina Sánchez-Martín stated that her efforts are designed to contribute to ‘undoing Whiteness’ in university students’ writing.

‘The repeated references to ‘correct grammar’ and ‘standard language’ reinforce master narratives of English only as White and monolingualism and a deficit view of multilingualism,’ said Sánchez-Martín.

Ah, I see!  People are now expected to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to attend college to graduate no more intelligent and literate—perhaps less–than they were before they first set foot on campus.  The obvious solution is to abolish all College English Departments and fire the faculty.

he World Health Organization said on Friday that fully vaccinated people should continue social distancing, including the wearing of masks, in order to stop community transmission of the delta variant of the coronavirus.

And now we learn the very building housing the National Archives is–wait for it–RACIST!!!

The National Archives’ task force on racism claimed in a little-noticed report to the U.S.’s top librarian that the Archives’ own Rotunda – which houses the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights – is an example of ‘structural racism’ and that the Founding Fathers and other White, historically impactful Americans are portrayed too positively.

The report was completed in April and released this month but has so far flown under the media radar. The task force claims that structural racism “unequivocally impacts” how National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) employees interact with each other, customers and the historical records themselves.

The task force suggests ways to ‘reimagine the Rotunda,’ including staging ‘dance or performance art in the space that invites dialogue about the ways that the United States has mythologized the founding era.’

I can see it now: dancers pretending to be oppressed peoples being symbolically slaughtered by dancers pretending to be oppressors.  What creativity!  What reimagining!

The report also called for ‘trigger warnings’ to be put in place with historical content to ‘forewarn audiences of content that may cause intense physiological and psychological symptoms.’

I’m a little worried here.  These are the people responsible for safeguarding the originals of our founding documents…

So now trigger warnings are bad because guns have triggers, which triggers ultra sensitive people because guns?  How will we warn them about triggering—ooops!—about whatever events?  Somehow “I was whatevered” just doesn’t have the same ring, which will probably whatever someone because it’s related to bells.

And yes, the New York Times is full of hypocrites and lunatics:

Science writer Donald McNeil Jr. was released by The New York Times this year for having spoken a slur during a conversation two years ago about the term itself. But when the Pulitzer committee came to award McNeil for his coverage of the coronavirus, the Times assured them that McNeil was not racist, even though his employment with the paper was severed over allegations of racism.

That’s right. The Times let their star science writer go rather than defend him against bogus charges, and then told the Pulitzer committee that the allegations were garbage, all because they wanted both the glory of the award, and the social justice points for having let him go.

Apparently, according to Fox News, the Times actually reached out to the Pulitzer committee to let them know that McNeil wasn’t really racist, despite their having accepted his resignation on the grounds that he was in fact racist.

The Times received the Pulitzer for McNeil’s work in the category of ‘public service.’ McNeil’s work was the foundation of their reporting. McNeil said he was ‘very happy for my former colleagues’ but also said that the awarding of the top prize in journalism was ‘bittersweet.’

The Pulitzer is worth about as much as the Nobel Peace Prize these days.

As part of a $1.75 million grant program to make prisons more child-friendly, the Department of Justice is encouraging applicants to submit proposals for ‘visitation experiences’ like pizza parties, DJs, camping trips and carnivals.

“Camping trips?!”

The DOJ’s Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking grant applications for ‘construction, renovation, or upgrades of child-friendly family visiting spaces in correctional facilities, as well as for revisions of policies and practices to support child-friendly visitation experiences.’

The FY2021 Child-Friendly Family Visiting Spaces in Jails and Prisons Programs is initially spending $1.75 million on five projects, but that could be increased.

Well of course it could and will.  It’s other people’s money!

‘Preserving positive family connections can yield positive societal benefits in the form of reduced recidivism, less intergenerational criminal justice system involvement, and promotion of healthy child development,’ the grant solicitationstates. Yet, the ‘environment of correctional facilities can be intimidating and detrimental to child development.’

Of course!  Why had not anyone thought of this before?  Prison should be as pleasant and child friendly as possible, which will definitely make felons averse to committing crimes.  Do 25 to life, have pizza, carnivals and go camping!

Yeah, we definitely have to honor violent felons who killed themselves by overdose trying to hide their drugs from the police.  Of course, it could have been a black person who doesn’t think violent felons deserve statutes…

And finally, news from Princeton, via The College Fix:

Princeton University, along with The NAACP of Trenton, New Jersey, will be hosting a gathering today, June 27, regarding an alleged noose discovered at a campus construction site a little over a week ago.

According to The Daily Princetonian, a contractor at the ‘only accessible to authorized personnel’ site found the ‘noose,’ and the university immediately ‘engaged’ the contracting company after it was reported.

In a campus-wide email, Vice President for Campus Life Rochelle Calhoun said ‘Princeton vehemently deplores this appalling act of hate — the University has zero-tolerance for racist and harmful actions such as this. Such actions do not represent the bedrock values shared across our community.’

Calhoun did not mention where the ‘noose’ was discovered.

And as usual, there are no known photos of the “noose.”  Also as usual, the demand for actual campus nooses greatly exceeds the supply.
