Among the most interesting developments of the 2020 election cycle has been the refreshing honesty of Democrat/Socialist/Communist politicians. Allow me please, gentle readers, to explain why I’ve adopted the D/S/C acronym to generally describe the Democrat Party and leftism/progressivism.
The 2020 presidential election cycle has seen the solidification of the shift in the Democrat Party from a more or less left of center party to a party just shy of communism, and solidly socialist. In the process, it has become harder and harder to find a “Democrat” that actually believes in American constitutionalism, particularly as it represents the peaceful transfer of power via elections. Most seek, as Barack Obama coined it, to “fundamentally transform” America into something resembling the communist dictatorships of Ronald Reagan’s “ash heap of history.” Presumably, such people see Venezuela, Chicago, Cuba, and California as models rather than a glimpse into a dystopian future to be avoided at all costs.
The contemporary D/S/C sees the Constitution as an annoying anachronism, a mere impediment to their policy desires. Bearing that conviction, any lesser law may be ignored at will. When American constitutionalism is abandoned, there are no restraints. Anyone opposing them is evil, a Nazi, worse than Hitler, and must be shut up or destroyed. Any election that does not go their way is illegitimate and must be overturned. Impeachment is planned and preached before the inauguration. That an American president should put the needs and interests of America above all else is horrifying to them, for America is the source of evil in the world. And of course, they have no problem at all with conducting a banana republic coup against a lawfully elected president. Their presidential candidates run the gamut, from solidly socialist to raving communist, thus D/S/C.
D/S/Cs have always been deceptive about their true goals—“if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”—but in the past, have occasionally slipped and accidently told the truth, which virtually never went well with the public. Circa 2019, they’ve pulled out all the stops, and are telling us, for the first time, exactly how they want to give it to us, good and hard. The former D/S/C frontrunner, Elizabeth Warren, wants to bankrupt the nation and the world, and the D/S/C base is all for it. Others in the field want to do the same thing, but they’re being cagier about it.
And there was the skateboarding goofus, fake Hispanic Beto O’Rourke, who actually upset the D/S/Cs when he unstealthily told the public what D/S/Cs have always wanted to do but consistently lied about: raid the homes of law abiding Americans to seize their guns. It was a stupid, desperate, political move made by a man whose campaign was going down in flames but had not yet crashed, yet it was among the most honest, and thus rare, recitations of D/S/C intentions in history. The D/S/C base loved it. They love anything that would in any way harm deplorable, Gad and gun clinging Normal Americans who live in the vast, cultural wasteland of Flyover Country where they live their meaningless little lives and bitterly cling to God and guns, and are, of course, deplorable. They’re also being constantly harangued by Pete Buttigieg, who because he’s gay, is uniquely qualified to be president, and to tell Christians how they have, until his campaign, completely misinterpreted the Gospel, which is actually all about how LGBTQWERTY activists and their supporters are models for sainthood, and God hates anyone that isn’t like them, but that’s another article for another day.
Beto, the skateboarding horseman of the anti-liberty/gun apocalypse, made a desperate bid to save his doomed campaign by appealing to one of the holy articles of D/S/C faith: disarming the Deplorables. His fellow D/S/Cs shied away, to varying degrees, from jumping on that specific creaky bandwagon, not that they didn’t share his ultimate goal. They were all pretty much agreed on one thing, however: Beto went too far in telling the whole truth about what they all want and intend to do, and while that thrilled the D/S/C base, it was the transitory buzz of the crazed true believer, momentarily euphoric, but not nearly sufficiently lasting to put out the flames and pull out of the crash dive, and Beto crashed. He was not missed seconds after he announced he was pulling out of the race.
For decades, D/S/Cs have accused anyone saying they want to take away people’s guns of being crazed conspiracy theorists. When the occasional politician would slip and admit it, they, and their media propaganda arm, quickly covered it up in the best Wizard of Oz “pay no attention to the gun grabber behind the curtain!” fashion. But Beto, in desperation, let the cat out of the bag (I’ve turned myself in to the idiom police, so you don’t have to) in a way that makes it impossible to deny any longer. The NRA ILA comments:
On Monday’s episode of The View, while the cast was doing a postmortem on O’Rourke’s failed campaign, host Joy Behar chastised the former Texas Representative for revealing exactly what NRA has been saying for years is the ultimate goal of anti-gun extremists.
Perhaps as a warning to the remaining Democrat candidates, Behar stated, ‘They should not tell everything they’re going to do. If you are going to take people’s guns away, wait until you get elected and then take them away. Don’t tell them ahead of time.’
For a party that claims to support transparency, it seems odd to hear a Democrat like Behar offer such advice. Perhaps more concerning, however, would be to consider what else Democrat candidates for President might have in store for law-abiding gun owners that they do not want to publicly reveal until after next year’s election.
Of course, it is likely Behar’s advice will be followed. The top three candidates seeking the Democrat nomination seem to be set at Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and former Vice President Joe Biden, while South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been showing signs of gaining some traction. All have rejected O’Rourke’s call for confiscation, at least openly, and at least for now.
But, with multiple sources now reporting that anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg is once again considering throwing his name into the already crowded Democrat field, it’s likely that anti-gun extremists won’t have to wait long for a new champion of confiscation. After all, he’ll be the only candidate who can tout his experience as a firearm confiscator.
It might seem odd only to anyone credulous enough to actually believe D/S/C claims of honesty and transparency. Behar, among the most cruel and angry of D/S/C mouthpieces, is in line with her fellow travelers in taking the wraps off their true intentions: don’t tell the Normals what you intend to do until you have the irrevocable power to do it to them good and hard and once and for all.
Some might argue Behar is only a socialist TV automaton, but in this, and virtually all else, she speaks for vindictive D/S/Cs everywhere, and she certainly speaks for the current D/S/C Party. Most of them are more cautious than Beto. They’re not going to tell us everything they plan to do to us until after they’re elected, and like the Communist Chinese Barack Obama so admired, they play the long game. They know even if they don’t take the White House in 2020, they’ll take ultimate power one day, and when they do, we’re going to find out in Nancy Pelosi-like terms, that we had to elect them to discover what they’re going to do to us. Thus does she starkly reveal the utter contempt in which D/S/Cs hold Normal Americans, and their boundless self-imagined virtue.
These are people that hate America and any American that does not drink the D/S/C Kool Aid, as Rasmussenreports.com explains:
Democrats really don’t like America and think it’s time to move on from the culture that got us here.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 38% of Likely Democratic Voters believe American society is generally fair and decent. Fifty-one percent (51%) say it’s unfair and discriminatory.
By comparison, 74% of Republicans and unaffiliated voters by a 49% to 36% margin view American society as fair and decent. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Beto is, to put it bluntly, not the sharpest knife in the D/S/C cutlery drawer. It’s possible he didn’t know that sending the police door to door to disarm the public would cost innumerable innocent lives—of law-abiding Americans and police officers—and would almost certainly spark civil war. It’s equally likely he didn’t care. In that, he certainly shared the sensibilities of his fellow D/C/Cs, who know exactly what that Soviet tactic would cause, and who see killing gun owners as a feature, not a bug. They want civil war, because they’re stupid enough to think they’d win and establish their utopia once and for all. Anyone thinking me hyperbolic in asserting D/S/Cs want the blood of Normal Americans hasn’t spent sufficient time on social media, where D/S/Cs drool for the destruction of their political enemies in undisguised, bloodthirsty glee.
Actual Americans would do well to remember this come November, 2020, and on the occasion of every election thereafter.
Postscript: In article four of this series, I reviewed the fiction of Kurt Schlichter, an author who, like me, writes of a post-split America, not as a how-to guide, but in the hope it might be avoided. His most recent book in that series, Collapse is now out, and I recommend it.
You got a lot of hate there, Mike.
Dear Doug:
Race, hate, sexism, etc. cards have long been canceled at this Internet ATM. Don’t mistake my revelation of the actual hatred of other with hatred on my part. I’m perfectly willing to live in peace with anyone that is willing to actually support the Constitution and leave me, and everyone else, alone. Hatred is corrosive and destructive. The Portrait of Dorian Gray was an apt metaphor for its harms. I live a happy, quiet life, and do all I can to be helpful to all.
If hatred is corrosive and destructive then what are you pontificating in here… tolerance for your fellow man? Hey.. your blog to decide what you wanna post. Just sayin’……
Dear Doug:
What I don’t see you saying is where I’m failing to state the facts about the way so many D/S/Cs think and act toward normal Americans. Tolerance, and seeing clearly the animosity and ill intentions others have for one are two different things.
Maybe the D/S/C’s think you’re NOT a normal American. In fact.. you might be missing a few more letters there in your collective label.
Dear Doug:
Whatever they think of me, I’m certain it’s not complimentary.
I resemble that remark as well.. on the opposite side.
“there will be consequences from law enforcement” Most cops around here are not gun fighters. There are a few gun fighters in LE around here, but the ones I know would never obey the kind of orders Beto envisions giving. The next argument is we can’t stand against the legions. Except the legions are made up of us. Obama may have poisoned the upper officer core, but not the troops at the pointy end of the stick. I suspect that if civil war ever came, the Legions would stand with us and it would be over very quickly.
And who would be in charge of the “us” you are alluding to and those “Legions”, Phil? Would YOU surrender your trigger finger to someone else telling you what to shoot at? You going to march off to kill fellow Americans while your family is home and unprotected from survival gangs roaming about the countryside when the utilities and the internet go down? Get real.
Dear Phil:
Quite so. In the old Soviet Union, conscripts were sent to serve in regions far from their own people for just that reason. Stephen Coont’s Liberty’s Last Stand makes just that point, and it’s quite persuasive. It certainly tracks with my military experience.
Ah, Doug. The point is, they’ll come for us. They’ll try to do it en masse for the first while, but they’ll quickly realize that they’re leaving THEIR families unprotected.
You mean.. roving bands of renegade Conservatives hellbent on imposing their will? Maybe I will hook up with a roving band of renegade Liberals imposing their will… and willing to accept a former Liberal Conservative.
The only problem I have with your essay, Mike, is that what you say about the democrats also applies to much, if not most of the present Republican Party. I’m quite old enough that I keep remembering how JFK’s party was far far to the right of today’s Republicans.
If we, almost miraculously, avoid another civil war and we reelect President Trump in 2020, to keep America I believe it’s imperative we have a new party up and running by 2024.
Dear Jiminalaska:
I do not, for a moment, think Republicans are possessed of all virtue. Many of them are as culpable as D/S/Cs in supporting the deep state and in putting their own interests above the nation. The contemporary evidence, however, is that far more D/S/Cs are doing it, and are far more totalitarian in their desires.
Do black congresscritters take stupid pills? Isn’t Lee the one who
commented on the US flag our astronauts planted on Mars? What
about Hank Johnson? He warned that the presence of US troops
on Guam would cause the island to tip over. So as to avoid charges
of racism, what about the cluster of constitutionally illiterate dunces
in the impeachment hearings?
The Democrats got their clocks cleaned in the intelligence committee
and they are doubling down on stupid in the judiciary committee. This
committee is normally formed by lawyers. It appears that the GOP
members (unlike the Democrats) did not fall asleep in their law
school classes.
It is just the same in the debate about guns. People (mainly on the
left) are commenting on things they know nothing about. If they had
never seen a movie or TV show (like westerns or war movies) I doubt
they could tell which end of the gun the bullet thingy came out of!
And don’t get me started on economics. At 9 years of age, I knew
about budgets, bank accounts, interest, and trade. That means as
a child I knew more about free-markets than any elected Democrat
congresscritter in America today!
So.. if you are alleged to be all-knowing and have all the answers, why aren’t you in D.C. draining the swamp like every Conservative politician claims they are doing?
I do not, as a rule, respond to liberal Internet trolls, so I will confine
this post to the rest of Mike’s readers. A lot of people believe this
non-impeachment impeachment is a complete bluff. Nancy McBotox
just called for the drafting of articles of impeachment. Drafting the
articles is not the same thing as taking a formal impeachment vote,
something the Democrats have avoided like the plague. Forget the
damage that a formal impeachment vote would do to the Donks
who won in districts that Trump carried in 2016.
There is another issue that could blow up in the Democrat faces.
The passage of a formal impeachment would be handed off to the
Senate, where the systemic corruption in their party could be
exposed. Joe and Hunter are guilty as hell based on Joe Biden’s
own words. The sons of Granny McBotox and John Kerry are both
involved in the Burisma scandal. A Ukrainian official even fingered
Obama for taking billions in bribes. Add the deep state criminal
conspiracy and the spiderweb of connections between the Democrat
party, and the figures in the impeachment hearings. The last thing
the Democrats want to do is implicate themselves in the crap-storm
that will come when the Republicans start calling witnesses.
There is another issue to consider. Federal law describes what
a conspiracy is. Pick anyone Hillary Klingon, James Comey, John
Brennan and even Obama. Hillary Clinton’s crimes are past the
statute of limitations. If anyone is still pulling strings on this
Coup Clutz Clan, they run the risk of prosecution under the
actions taken in furtherance of a conspiracy clause, which resets
the statutes clock. As criminal conspiracies go, these morons
left a trail of clues that even Mr. Magoo could follow. And if
we knew who the major players were within months of the
Russian collusion hoax, you can damn well bet that President
Trump and people in his administration know a lot more than
we do!
Perhaps it’s better I leave you to lavish in your echo chamber.
Dear Doug:
I suspect you mean “languish.”
Actually.. lavish “yourself” was more the direction. I did indeed leave a word out.
Dear Leonard Jones:
Perhaps, but one can never underestimate the ability of Republicans to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory…
