In The Second Civil War, Part 9: Manufactured Reality, I wrote of the New York Times, which recently, and for the first time, admitted the Deep State exists.  Until recently, Democrats/Socialists/Communists–D/S/Cs–have mocked anyone that so much as mentioned the Deep State, branding them paranoid lunatics.  Now we suddenly discover not only was the Deep State there all along, but they are the only true patriots, defending American foreign policy from the President of the United States, and above all, preserving…well…the Deep State.  In our representative republic, it is solely the President who has the power to conduct foreign policy, but the Deep State knows better, and daring to cross them, we now discover, is an impeachable offense.

With this background firmly in mind—this requires a grasp of reality—let us visit The Daily Chrenk.com to better understand The Deep State, one of the primary, and most dangerous, D/S/C factions:

This narrative is now officially old and busted. The new and hot one: the Deep State exists and it’s good.

As Michelle Cottle, member of ‘The New York Times’ editorial board, writes in her op-ed “They Are Not The Resistance. They Are Not a Cabal. They Are Public Servants: Let us now praise these not-silent heroes”:

President Trump is right: The deep state is alive and well. But it is not the sinister, antidemocratic cabal of his fever dreams. It is, rather, a collection of patriotic public servants — career diplomats, scientists, intelligence officers and others — who, from within the bowels of this corrupt and corrupting administration, have somehow remembered that their duty is to protect the interests, not of a particular leader, but of the American people.

The self-imagined elite, the self-annointed “experts” of the Deep State have apparently decided they are invincible, and are proudly confirming what they have denied for so long: they exist.  Not only do they exist, they are the sole, selfless patriots ceaselessly laboring to correct the mistakes made by voters.  They alone are qualified to save us from prosperity, democracy, liberty, and individual sovereignty, obviously because we don’t know what to do with that stuff and they do.

I’m reminded of a classic Monty Python skit, where two doctors are attending a birthing, and the mother, her feet up in the stirrups, asks “what do I do?”  They reply: “Nothing.  You’re not qualified.”  The guardians of the Deep State don’t think voters are qualified to rule themselves either, as The Washington Examiner explains:

Former CIA acting Director John McLaughlin expressed his gratitude for the ‘deep state’ and their effort to get President Trump impeached.

McLaughlin, who was the acting director in 2004, embraced the idea of a “deep state” with the intent of ending the Trump presidency at an event on Wednesday hosted by the Hayden Center.

‘There is something unique you have to agree that now the impeachment inquiry is underway, sparked by a complaint from someone within the intelligence community, it feeds the president’s concern, an often-used term about a ‘deep state’ being there to take him out,’ Margaret Brennan, the moderator for the event hosted, asked McLaughlin.

‘Thank God for the ‘deep state,’ he responded.

He praised any and everyone trying to depose President Trump:

Everyone here has seen this progression of diplomats and intelligence officers and White House people trooping up to Capitol Hill right now and saying these are people who are doing their duty, who are responding to a higher call,’ said McLaughlin. ‘With all of the people who knew what was going on here, it took an intelligence officer to step forward and say something about it, which was the trigger that unleashed everything else.

Yes.  The rules were changed shortly before this latest chapter of the continuing coup attempt to allow second-hand whistleblowing.  This was necessary to give this particular traitor/seditionist the protection of the whistleblower statue.  Of course, he told a number of lies in his official paperwork, which invalidates that protection, but that doesn’t matter when deposing Trump is the prize.  Oh yes, and he didn’t nobly file the proper paperwork until many weeks after being counseling by Adam Schiff and his thuggish staff.  That’s part of the “everything else” that has been unleashed.

Let us, gentle readers, consider what this means.  A former head of the CIA, an agency responsible for espionage—outside our boundaries–to preserve the Republic, thinks he, and those like him, are not beholden to the Constitution, even while they claim to be saving it by deposing what they consider the voter’s mistake.

“The Deep State” is indeed an appropriate appellation.  They, not the courts, determine what the Constitution says.  They, not the legislature, rewrite the law and choose what law to obey.  They, unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats, not the executive, write foreign policy, domestic policy, and determine what laws to obey: their “higher law.”  And in so doing, in rendering null votes and abusing the powers loaned them by the people, they destroy the people’s trust in our representative republic.

All of the governmental agencies implicit in the ongoing coup are members of the executive branch.  President Trump is their boss, and apart from their individual votes, they can have no say in his placement or continuation in office.

Why is it there were no such “whistleblowers” during the eight years of the Obama Administration, during the years when “a pen and a phone” replaced the Congress for who Mr. Obama could not wait?  Where were the noble guardians of liberty when Mr. Obama saddled our warriors with rules of engagement that cost their lives?  Where were they when Hillary Clinton’s negligence cost the lives of far better human beings in Benghazi?  Where were they when the Obamites sold weapons to Mexican drug cartels, weapons that were used to kill Americans and innumerable Mexicans?  Where was their patriotism when Hillary Clinton sold our Uranium to Russia, when she, through her violation of the law, gave away secrets to our enemies?  Where were they when Barack Obama, like a drug lord, sent pallets of cash to Iran in the dead of night?  Where were they when the Obamites used the IRS to deny Americans their rights?  Where were they when the FBI CIA and DOJ conspired to depose a lawfully elected President?  Where was their concern for the republic, for the Constitution, for liberty, then?

It remains unlikely President Trump will be removed from office, though recent news has it the butt-hurt, execrable Mitt Romney is trying to recruit Republican defectors to the D/S/C cause in the Senate.  It is likely the D/S/Cs will impeach Mr. Trump.  A senate trial, where the facts, not selective leaks, will become public knowledge, will not provide the results they seek and expect.  Even the leaks that have thus far surfaced represent nothing more than the opinions of deep state operatives based on second, third and more handed rumors.

It is the nature of our representative republic that we may hold differing opinions on how our foreign policy—or any policy—should be conducted, but only one person—the President—is invested with the sole power to determine it.  D/S/Cs are bent on establishing the precedent that all that is necessary for impeachment is a difference of opinion, or in a very real sense, a difference in style, social status, and failing to belong to the right class.  Oh, Mr. Trump is a billionaire to be sure, but he’s not “one of us [them].”  He’s a man of real accomplishment, a man who creates jobs, who creates wealth, who contributes to society, and they hate him for it, just as they hate normal Americans, the people who make America work.

For too long, the Deep Staters of the State Department have imagined themselves invested with that power.  They did not object to Barack Obama’s policies, because they were their policies.  He was no threat to them.  It’s doubtful any of them admired him.  They think too highly of themselves for that, but they had no fear of him.

They do fear Trump, because he’s serious about keeping his promises.  He’s serious about draining the swamp, and in so doing, he’s draining their influence, their perks, their social status, their ability to profit by their positions, and their power.  Above all, he truly represents normal Americans, who they loath and fear far more than the most vicious Islamic terrorist or the most murderous dictator.  We’re their enemies.  Mr. Trump symbolizes all they hate about us.

There is another troubling portent: retired, even active duty, military officers attacking the President.  Until the Presidency of Donald Trump, this was something that just wasn’t done.  It is unlawful for active duty military personnel to do it, and the traditional, honorable means for officers to resolve arguments with the President over policy was to resign.  Even then, it was considered dishonorable to engage in public battles with the President.  No more.  This is among the more destructive “new rules” of the D/S/Cs.

This has been true until now because of the importance of maintaining the reality, not just the appearance, of civilian control of the military.  To do otherwise is to reduce America to the status of banana republic where who controls the military controls the governmentAs my pal Bookworm recently noted, Barack Obama conducted a thorough purge of professional war fighters in our military, replacing them with social justice warriors and D/S/C partisans.  President Trump has thus far shown enormous restraint in dealing with them.  One hopes that restraint will not last.  Perhaps he is waiting until his second term to drain that particular swamp?

The purge is one reason so many of our actual war fighters find themselves in danger of liberty and life for actually killing the enemy.  President Trump has had to review a number of those cases.  He is currently reviewing several well-publicized travesties wrought by officers who have broken faith with our warriors and the normal American public from which they come.

Even if, as seems most likely, President Trump remains in office and wins a second term, the Deep State has done enormous, perhaps irreparable, damage to the trust necessary for the survival of our representative republic.  Who can now believe the CIA, the DOJ, the FBI, the State Department, even the upper ranks of our military are honest public servants dedicated to upholding their oaths to defend the Constitution?  Who can reasonably believe they see themselves as non-partisan public servants and not the masters of Americans so many of them hate and hunger to harm?

But not all of them are that way!  One would hope most are not, but a representative republic cannot abide any of them holding those beliefs, to say nothing of acting on them.  When an FBI agent comes to your door, how can you know which they are?  How can you trust any government employee to obey the law and honor your unalienable, constitutional rights?  How can you vote knowing that vote doesn’t matter because the president can be impeached for extra constitutional non-reasons?  How can you rest easy knowing the DOJ, the FBI, the IRS and every other federal agency may be weaponized against you?

Civil war is not inevitable, but every week, D/S/Cs make it more and more likely.  In his Second Inaugural Address, Abraham Lincoln said:

Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war rather than let it perish.

D/S/Cs are, more and more, unveiling what have been their intentions all along, and it is no longer obvious that they, as Lincoln said, “deprecate” war.  They are surely not for the preservation of liberty and our representative republic.  Barack Obama spoke of “fundamentally transforming” America.  Current D/S/Cs intend that, and so much more.  They do not want America under the Constitution to survive.  War will come when normal Americans realize it is necessary that America should survive, as Lincoln said in his Gettysburg Address:
