Some tales of self-defeating stupidity more or less tell themselves.  It’s the best a man can get!

It’s also nice to occasionally run across a story exposing enormous stupidity, improving the human race, yet simultaneously a feel good story.  But Legal Insurrection reports on just such a happy tale:

There are numerous reports of an explosion at the home of a senior Palestinian terrorist in southern Gaza resulting from a so-called “work accident.”

The Times of Israel reports:

Separately on Saturday evening, five people were injured in an explosion in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, the Hamas-run health ministry said.

Local media reported the blast emanated from the home of Mohammed Talal Al-Ajani, the Rafah Brigade commander of the Popular Resistance Committees, a Gaza terror group. The explosion, apparently triggered by explosives, was said to have caused a fire and damage to neighboring buildings. [skip]

If as reports indicate, this was an accidental explosion while handling explosives, it would qualify as a so-called ‘work accident.’  That term is a commonly used to refer to Palestinian terrorists who die by their own hand when explosives or explosive devices they are handling detonate prematurely, or when a tunnel they are constructing collapses.

Don’t you just hate those work accidents that level entire blocks?

The newest Leftist “it” girl, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez–AOC–is now able to predict the end of the world, as grabien.com explains:

The world is going to end in 12 years unless the government takes action, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said Monday at a Martin Luther King forum in New York City.

Here’s an excerpt from her interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates:

‘And I think the part of it that is generational is that millennials and people, in Gen Z, and all these folks that come after us are looking up and we’re like, the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change. You’re biggest issue, your biggest issue is how are going to pay for it? — and like this is the war, this is our World War II. And I think for younger people looking at this are more like, how are we saying let’s take it easy when 3,000 Americans died last year, how are we saying let’s take it easy when the end person died from our cruel and unjust criminal justice system?

How are we saying take it easy, the America that we’re living in today is dystopian with people sleeping in their cars so they can work a second job without healthcare and we’re told to settle down. It’s a fundamental separation between that fierce urgency of now, the why we can’t wait that King spoke of. That at some point this chronic reality do reach a breaking point and I think for our generation it reached that, I wished I didn’t have to be doing every post, but sometimes I just feel like people aren’t being held accountable. Until, we start pitching in and holding people accountable, I’m just gonna let them have it.

So let’s see, the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t give trillions to the causes of AOC’s choice, 3,000 Americans died last year (is that all?!), America is dystopian…

Dystopian  adjective

: of, relating to, or being an imagined world or society in which people lead dehumanized, fearful lives : relating to or characteristic of a dystopia

…and there is “a fundamental separation between that fierce urgency of now.”  Uh, and what else?

She’s going to let us have it.  Well, at least I’ll have plenty of future fodder for this series. More and more, I’m getting a sense AOC’s brain is a continuously running “stream of unconsciousness” loop. Her mouth, at least, consistently gets ahead of her brain.  Because human beings try to make sense of nonsensical speech, some might think her intelligent or a capable speaker.  Thus far, she’s a sub-Obama rhetorician, and that’s stunningly low.

And in California, feminism is roiled with controversy because lots of women are too white, or something, as Fox News Reports:

Organizers of a Women’s March rally slated for Northern California next month have canceled the event, saying they were concerned that participants would have been ‘overwhelmingly white.’

In a news release, organizers for the march in Eureka – about 270 miles north of San Francisco – said Friday the “decision was made after many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march.”

‘Up to this point, the participants have been overwhelmingly white, lacking representation from several perspectives in our community,’ the news release continued.

Let me see if I get this right: women marching for women’s issues have to be less white than not if women’s perspectives are to be represented?

According to Census Bureau data from July, Humboldt County, where Eureka is the county seat, is 74 percent non-Hispanic white.

‘I was appalled to be honest,’ Amy Sawyer Long told the Washington Times. ‘I understand wanting a diverse group. However, we live in a predominantly white area … not to mention how is it beneficial to cancel? No matter the race people still want their voices heard.

Gee Amy.  You might want to reconsider the real motivations of this particular sisterhood… And spiked.online reports on the antics of our cousins across the pond:

Sergeant Major marching up and down the square

For some time now, the British Army has struggled to embody military values, to present itself as a robust, risk-taking, flexible military institution. Instead of upholding what were once key values of the military – service, duty, courage, discipline, loyalty – it has taken to promoting itself as just another normal civilian institution.

So last year it launched its ‘Belonging’ recruitment campaign, which assured would-be soldiers that the army is an emotionally correct outfit that provides psychological validation to its recruits. One ad showed a tearful soldier in a jungle opening a letter from a loved one, while his comrades offered him a cup of tea.

Predictably, this depiction of the army as effectively a Safe Space where everyone is made to feel comfortable did not motivate young people to sign up. In October, the deputy chief of the defence staff, Sir Mark Poffley, revealed that in the three months to August 2018, the army recruited just 10 per cent of the officer recruits and seven per cent of the other ranks it needs for 2018/19.

And yet instead of learning from the failures of the ‘Belonging’ campaign, the army has decided to go even further down the road of presenting itself as a cuddly, non-challenging, soppy institution. Its new PR campaign features posters and TV ads calling on ‘snowflakes’, ‘selfie addicts’, ‘class clowns’, ‘phone zombies’ and ‘me me me millennials’ to sign up. One poster says: ‘Snowflakes – your army needs YOU and your compassion.

Uh, maybe Mr. Trump’s idea to drop out of NATO might not be so radical after all…

I’m sure, gentle readers, you, like me, are very much down–to use the lingo of hip young people–with the idea of calling out white supremacy, as Fox News reports:

Areva Martin (L) and David Webb (full of white privilege)

The embarrassing moment occurred during a discussion about experience being more important than race when determining whether or not someone is qualified for a particular job.

‘I’ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I’m qualified to be in each one. I never considered my color the issue, I considered my qualifications the issue,’ [David] Webb said.

‘That’s a whole, another long conversation about white privilege, the things that you have the privilege of doing, that people of color don’t have the privilege of,’ said [Areva] Martin – who also hosts CBS’ ‘Face the Truth.’

A dumbfounded Webb asked, ‘How do I have the privilege of white privilege?’

Martin responded, ‘David, by virtue of being a white male you have white privilege.’

The Fox Nation host then explained that he was actually black.

‘I stand corrected,’ Martin said.

Webb scolded Martin for running with an ‘assumption’ and she then blamed her team for providing inaccurate information.

‘That’s actually insulting,’ Webb said.

‘It is and I apologize,’ Martin replied. ‘I was given wrong information.

To be fair, Webb wasn’t on set with Martin, and he does not speak in a stereotypically black dialect where prefixes and consonants are optional, and “bitch” is every part of speech.  He actually employs standard American English with a commensurate, educated vocabulary.  I’m still trying to find my privilege, though.  Can’t recall where I left it… In fact, can’t recall ever seeing it, and I’ve been white pretty much all of my life.

Finally, let us conclude this stupid fest with AOC, who reportedly has an undergraduate degree in economics.  Business Insider.com reports:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued that a society that ‘allows billionaires to exist’ while some Americans live in abject poverty is ‘immoral.’

‘I’m not saying that Bill Gates or Warren Buffet are immoral, but a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong,’ Ocasio-Cortez said during a Monday eventhonoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday.

The 29-year-old lawmaker argued that the existence of billionaires is a byproduct of skyrocketing economic inequality, and suggested that Americans shouldn’t strive to become super-rich.

‘Maybe this idea of idealizing this outcome of ‘Maybe one day you too can be a billionaire and earn more than millions of families combined’ is not an aspirational or good thing,’’ she said during her MLK Day conversation with author Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Uh, there’s a ringworm epidemic in Alabama because people can’t get healthcare?  Al.com splains:

According to the Mayo Clinic, ringworm is a common fungal infection characterized by a red circular rash. Despite its name, no actual worm is involved. It is spread by skin-to-skin contact with an infected person or animal and is akin to athlete’s foot or jock itch.

It is typically treated by over-the-counter antifungal medication.

Oh.  So it’s not spread because people can’t get health care, though anyone can go to an emergency room and can’t be refused treatment, and there appear to be no health officials anywhere who know about such a scourge.  Perhaps AOC, in her pursuit of an economics degree, missed the part about socialism not only failing everywhere throughout history, but the only billionaires in such countries are the dictators and their families who bleed their countries–like Venezuela, for example–dry, while stealing all their people’s money.  She also apparently missed the part about socialism/communism murdering untold millions.  Being killed by a socialist regime makes it kind of hard to enjoy the wonderful economic benefits and equality of socialism

Maybe it’s not all lost though.  Maybe a rock band can write a song titled “Sweet Ringworm, Alabama”?  I’m sure it will be top 10 because it has a kind of biological ring to it.

She also apparently missed the day they discussed the nature of capitalism.  It’s not a zero sum game.  A dollar Warren Buffett makes is not a dollar denied anyone else.  And most billionaires make their money by providing advances and jobs for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, which helps everyone, rather than forcing them to eat zoo animals and use their hands to wipe themselves.

But hey, she’d going to give it to us, and apparently “it” is the kind of human misery or degradation one only sees in socialist countries.  That’s it!  She’s trying to make America dystopian.

Too stupid to survive.
