This week’s edition of the Sunday funnies is not entirely humorous. This has been a difficult week for Americans that understand and revere the philosophical underpinnings not only of our system of justice and our constitutional republic, but of our peaceable society.  Great damage has been done, in days rather than generations.  Let us, gentle readers, enjoy what mirth we can, nod at the sad ironies, and reflect on what we must do–each of us–to save the nation we so love.

You’ll recall, I’m sure Dr. Christine Blasey Ford throwing her “best friend” under the “get Kavanaugh” bus by euphemistically calling her insane:

All women MUST BE BELIEVED!

If it weren’t for double standards, they’d have no standards at all…

Lying about rape does tend to have consequences…

Does anyone really trust the FBI to investigate anything these days?

By all means, lets legalize drugs…

Listening to our elders tends to be a smart thing to do…

That’s gotta hurt…

Dr. Suess posthumously weighed in this week:

If I had a son, I wouldn’t be far from providing this advice…

Just a reminder about the nature of our opponents the opponents of America:

Wasn’t Sen. Jeff Flake brave to stand up to the evil Republicans and that gang rapist Hitler ring leader Kavanaugh?  I’m sure Democrats will appreciate his gesture and reward him…

Then again, maybe not so much…

It’s different when Democrats do it because shut up:

I knew it was only a matter of time…

Nah.  There’s an unlimited amount of irony, particularly where Democrats are involved:

I knew it!

Our intellectual and moral betters:

Our intellectual and moral betters 2:

No kidding…

I’m sure, during our “week” of FBI investigation, we’ll be seeing a lot of this:

Nah, Democrats would never do anything like this:

Maybe there’s something to this…

That’s different, because Lion of the Senate:

I hope I’ve helped you to laugh a bit.  We need an occasional pause from the tears.
