In June, I wrote Brett Kavanaugh: The Horror And Outrage Of The Left. In that article, I worried about the widening, perhaps unbridgeable gap between normal Americans and leftists:
Participation in our constitutional republic must be voluntary. Any other form of government is a tyranny; it exists at the point of the sword. Everyone must accept our system of government and willingly accept its limitations, its checks and balances. Congress writes laws, the courts interpret them, and the Presidents sees that they be faithfully executed.
The left hasn’t believed in any of that, hasn’t done it, for decades. The numbers of leftists breaking entirely with America is growing by the day. Within living memory, a member of Congress that exhorted mob rule, that encouraged people to criminally accost members of the executive branch wherever they might be, would have been censured at the least, and most likely, expelled. Instead, virtually every congressional Democrat has, at the least, refused to so much as criticize the execrable Maxine Waters, and many have called her noble and justified, because Trump.
If we do not accept the results of honestly conducted, legitimate elections, where are we? If we reject the Electoral College, what are we advocating? If we try to deny the President his ability to nominate judges and other officials, what’s the alternative? If everyone that disagrees with us is worse the Hitler, does evil have any real meaning? If political differences must cause the deaths of millions, what’s a life worth?
More and more, our self-imagined elite betters in Democrat politics and the media—I know: same thing—no longer bother to hide their condescension and hatred for normal Americans. I present herein three recent examples. The first, what happened when the Hispanic owner of a popular Mexican restaurant in Texas—we Texans love us some good Mexican food—dared to have his photo taken with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and made the mistake of posting it on social media. Fox News reports:
A Texas restaurant was forced to shut down its social media accounts on Saturday after it received backlash for posting a photo of Jeff Sessions during the attorney general’s visit to the Houston chain.
The fury against El Tiempo Cantina began when the restaurant posted a picture Friday of owner Rolando Laurenzo’s son and Sessions. The chain wrote in the caption that it was an “honor” to serve the attorney general, who was in Houston to meet with law enforcement officers on crime and illegal immigration.
Fans quickly condemned the post and lambasted the restaurant for serving Sessions. Some people urged customers to boycott the restaurant while others sent death threats to Laurenzo and the staff.
Those accusing President Trump of dictatorship have adopted the tactics and cruelty of dictatorship.
The man came to dinner and he was served without us even thinking about the political situations,’ Laurenzo wrote. ‘It was posted without review or approval by ownership and this has led to everyone jumping to conclusions that somehow we are involved in this political matter. We don’t approve of anyone separating parents and children.
Well there was their first mistake: one must always be careful to think of leftist politics lest leftists engage in inclusive dialogue such as “I’m going to kill you, you ^%^$#XX$@*&#!” As I’ve recently written, local, state and federal authorities separate parents and children whenever those parents are arrested. This happens every day, and no one complains, unless they’re illegally in the country and it’s useful for Democrats.
People are insulting us in such a dramatic fashion, and we feel like we don’t deserve it,’ the restaurant owner said. ‘At least temporarily I had it taken down because I don’t want to be insulted, my children to be insulted, my family to be insulted.
So, a Hispanic founds and runs a successful business in America, which opportunity is presumably why so many other Hispanics want to come to America, legally or illegally, but he dared to have a photo taken with someone leftists hate, so he should be run out of business and killed? As always, leftists want it both ways—actually, every way. And speaking of judge Kavanaugh, Legal Insurrection describes the latest leftist insanity:
Unfortunately for the press, there’s not enough dirt on Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, which means journalists have to scrape at the bottom of the barrel.
That’s where we enter the creepy level and ProPublica has embraced it because the publication wants to knowexactly who went to Washington Nationals baseball games with the judge and pictures of him at the games. Yes, the publication is still probing this disturbing development from July even though Kavanaugh bought those tickets with his personal credit card and his friends paid him back.
In July, the left went wild because The Washington Postreportedthat Kavanaugh “incurred tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt buying baseball tickets over the past decade and at times reported liabilities that could have exceeded his cash accounts and investment assets.
Anyone with a reasonable head on their shoulders rolled their eyes because how many of us have taken out loans on houses, cars, or other expenses because we couldn’t pay the amount up front? So the problem with Kavanaugh is that he’s not rich enough to pay for everything out of pocket?
ProPublica found a problem with Kavanaugh spending so much on baseball season tickets even though he paid for the tickets with his credit card and his friends paid him back.Andrew Cuomo
The Horror. They even came up with a questionnaire:
While I generally consider baseball about as exciting as watching grass grow, I certainly don’t waste a spark of mental energy in outrage about the sports habits of others. At least baseball players generally aren’t national anthem kneelers. Fortunately, many are delivering appropriate mockery:
Several observant folks responded to ProPublica with devastating photos catching Kavanaugh in the act:
This one is particularly revealing:
And speaking of revealing, every now and then, a Democrat politician makes a gaffe, defined as saying what they really believe:
Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) “drew gasps from the crowd”on Wednesday when he belittled America in response to President Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan.
‘We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great,’ Cuomo said during a speech in New York. He went on to argue that only when Democrat priorities like women’s rights are realized will this dark, oppressive dystopia known as the U.S.A. ever become great.
‘We have not reached greatness, we will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged, we will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of our population, is gone and every woman’s full potential is realized and unleashed and every woman is making her full contribution,’ he said.
Cuomo’s spokesweasels were quick to try to walk his gaffe back, but to little avail. In fact, Cuomo was quick to double down on stupid and attack President Trump’s initial response:
Cuomo has obviously never learned Democrats can’t get the better of Mr. Trump. President Trump, speaking for normal Americans—that’s why we elected him—was quick to reply:
So was Cuomo’s Republican opponent:
The New York Republican Party was kind enough to buy Cuomo a one-way ticket to Canada:
Cuomo eventually admitted his statement was “inartful,” which means he stands by it, and he’s ticked off he got caught saying what he really thinks. The Left is increasingly vicious, uncivilized and demented. One might believe it would be next to impossible for any political party to turn American into a dictatorship. They are wrong. America exists only so long as citizens value their citizenship—recognize the necessity of national sovereignty–and are willing to voluntarily participate in American constitutionalism. Today’s Democrat Party no longer even pretends to do so.
Others suggest federal employees—the FBI, DOJ, IRS, military, etc.—would never turn against the Constitution, and without them, no dictatorship could succeed. We now know they would turn against us; they’re doing it today. For an instructive, fictional account of just how that might work, by all means, read Stephen Coonts’ Liberty’s Last Stand.
When an entire political party, for all intents and purposes, styles itself “The Resistance,” they rush down the path to civil war. Once that begins, there will be no going back. For Leftists wearing masks, the political is the personal; they are not interested in polite dialogue. Their cries for “conversations” are actually demands to “shut up.” Not so for normal Americans. But once lines the left is rapidly approaching are crossed, there will be no going back. Beating and killing the friends, family and relatives of normal Americans, deposing a lawfully elected government, tends to make the political personal for normal, law-abiding Americans.
This will not end well—for any of us, but particularly not for them. They’re too caught up in their own self-imagined superiority to understand that.
Jeez, Mike… you really believe this stuff?
Where is he not telling the truth DOUG ?
How far up your 4th point of contact is your head? [it’s an airborne thing, you wouldn’t understand!]
Your ignorance and trolling attempts bring smiles to the faces of those in the know of the truth.
Are Republicans f’d up too? Hell yes. But overthrow of a legitimate government isn’t their policy.
The Dems want to overthrow a legitimate government?? Jeeez.
Here’s something to read while your cleaning your weapon.

He sends links to his own blog! Hahaha!
Mike W. Keep them clean! Nobody likes a dirty gun!
Mike M.
Great writing! I should say though that while you are one of the great bloggers, with your talent you should try to move to a talk show or at least a talk radio show. Podcast maybe?
Dear Bigcatdaddy:
You’re very kind. Unfortunately, talk shows and such aren’t in my immediate future. I’m more than busy enough producing this scruffy little blog and pursuing my teaching and musical opportunities.
That the notion of civil war is in the public consciousness does not bode well for the US. It is something to be avoided if possible… but the current course charted by the left does not have that as an option. Honest to God communists are actually being elected and roughly 1/3 of the country believes in Racial Guilt and redistribution of property. And those aren’t even fringe groups. That’s mainstream democrat party orthodoxy. For whatever reason, the crazies are in the driver’s seat of the Democratic party.
Odds are non of the elites who spark the coming fires will ever see any of the violence. I’m sure they have cushy homes lined up in other countries, perhaps in Europe.
Dear optimisticallypessimistic:
What the self-imagined elite fail to realize is Europe is being overrun by islamists forcing Europeans to assimilate to their new caliphate.
Reblogged this on Gds44's Blog.
Dear gds44:
Thanks for the reblog!
Apart from keeping Felonia von Pantsuit out of the White House my
number one issue was the Supreme Court. I knew that if she had won
Scalia’s seat would have gone to an activist jurist. That would have
given her a 5-4 majority. Had she gone on to replace Kennedy, that
would mean a 6-3 majority. If Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg resigned or
failed to awaken from one of her frequent naps, that would have been
a wash so she would have to wait for the next vacancy.
Since Trump won the election he got to replace Scalia with another
strict constructionist. If the Senate confirms Kavanaugh, he will replace
the moderate Kennedy and have a solid 5-4 constructionist majority.
And if the elderly Ginsberg goes for any reason, it jumps to 6-3.
Had she won the election, she would have the stacked court which
is something liberals have been lusting for since FDR. With a stacked
court, Hillary would thrown the throttle to ludicrous speed and
completed Obama’s task of fundamentally transforming America.
Imagine what America would look like in 4 or 8 years.
The reason the left has gone bat guano crazy with Trump’s win is
that to them, the judiciary is a super-legislature so long as the court
is packed with leftist activist judges. By electing President Trump,
America dodged a bullet by electing him and a 7-2 majority is
not hard to imagine if he serves a second term.
The Democrats have descended into collective insanity because
they are losing their grip on power and their monopoly on political
corruption. The GOP is sitting on a 2-1 fundraising advantage, and
the voting public is now seeing the Democrat party for what it is:
A collection of spoiled brats. They are in complete meltdown and
every time they have lost elections since 1994, the lesson they
took away was they were not far enough to the left. And they
still have not figured it out. Milo Yiannopolous and Steven
Crowder garnered a lot of the Millennial voters and the Walk
Away campaign is converting millions of traditional liberals.
On the eve of the 2016 elections, I took an interactive map and
nailed it to the exact number of electoral votes each candidate
would end up with. The one thing I failed to predict was that
Trump would have the support of 36 percent of the black vote,
47 percent of the Hispanic vote and my best guestimate of
union voters is about 50 percent. Black business has grown
400 percent since Trump’s tax cuts and deregulation. To
quote James Carville: “It’s the economy, stupid.”
Impressive analysis.. but it’s all moot unless…
1. ..the GOP keeps Congress… and…
2. …Trump is still around.
Right now neither is not anywhere near a guarantee, and if one or the other changes it makes the whole enchilada non-effective. The anticipatory charges against Trump is rapidly building (he’s already an un-indicted co-conspirator) and we’ve yet to hear from Mueller. Even if there are charges galore against Trump… he will obviously promote his innocence, but we will likely never know because he will never testify under oath nor take it to a court… we are just supposed to believe him.. a proven liar. That leaves it up to Congress.
The economy has been record-breaking building since 2009… since before Trump, and very likely after Trump. It’s rather like the economy.. Wall Street… thinks Trump is irrelevant, at least until the Trump-inspired trade wars get worse. When that happens we can all sit around and sing Kum-bah-ya toward Trump with our MAGA hats on, in the unemployment lines.
Doug:
Uh, correct me if I’m wrong here, but Barack Obama, and his sycophantic economists and minions claimed we would never again experience greater than 2% GDP growth. From whence does this “record-breaking [economic] building come? It was only Trump’s policies that produced the economy we now enjoy. And when I say Trump was responsible, understand the same would have happened no matter who occupied the White House if they follow the same template.
You’re not completely fact driven. Besides the additional one trillion in debt, and the huge surge of overseas orders in anticipation of the tariffs and trade wars… the economy has continued as was trended since 2009.
Here’s a sampling of the facts…
https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckjones/2018/07/27/trumps-economic-scorecard-18-months-into-his-presidency/#2b46d321283e
Trump has maintained the increase and some value added growth surge from the tax relief… and the tariffs are helping some parts of the econpomy but at the expense of other parts of the economy.. and we still haven’t determined what the various “wars” might do. The idea is all this sustainable.. and Trump is tampering away.
Dear Doug:
Uh, you’re not really citing that particular article to support your position, are you? While I agree that any addition to the deficit is a matter for concern, there is no comparison of deficit increases under Obama and Trump. We must also remember that the president doesn’t pass spending bills, Congress does, and both parties are complicit, though Democrats most of all.
Dear Leonard Jones:
Quite so. We face two entirely different view of the Supreme Court and its justices. Only one–judges whose rulings are informed solely by the law and Constitution–is legitimate. The other is merely a branch of the Democrat/Socialist party, ruling entirely on political whim.
