The banner headline of the millennium: MUELLER INDICTS 13 RUSSIANS, AND RUSSIAN COMPANIES, FOR INTERERING IN THE 2016 ELECTION!

WOW! That’s earth shaking! That blows the collusion scandal wide open! Hillary was right all along!

Not so much.

Consider this from Scott Johnson at Powerline:

As the Wall Street Journal observes in the related editorial today (behind the Journal’s paywall): ‘The 37-page indictment contains no evidence of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, but it does show a systematic effort to discredit the result of the 2016 election. On the evidence so far, President Trump has been the biggest victim of that effort, and he ought to be furious at Vladimir Putin.’

The Journal editorial asks a good question: ‘The indictment also makes us wonder what the Obama Administration was doing amid all of this. Where were top Obama spooks James Clapper and John Brennan? Their outrage became public only after their candidate lost the election. If they didn’t know what was going on, why not? And if they did, why didn’t they let Americans in on the secret? President Obama sanctioned Russia for its meddling only after the election.

And consider this from Kemberlee Kaye at Legal Insurrection:

While Russian operatives may have had a formidable online presence prior to and during the 2016 election cycle, their efforts were not expansive enough to push the needle in any direction.

Not only did the DOJ conclude there was no willing or knowing collusion between any American and Russian operatives, they also concluded Russia’s efforts failed to impact the 2016 election.

During a press conference, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein said, ‘There is no allegation in the indictment that any American was a knowing participant in the alleged unlawful activity,” adding “There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election.

Here’s the best part: None of those Russians are actually in the United States. They’re all back in Russia. I’m sure when Mueller and his merry band of Trump haters request extradition, Vladimir Putin will surely respond: “когда ад замерзает,” or loosely: “when Hell freezes over.” I guess the Clintonian/Obamite “reset” didn’t take.

The Russian Foreign Minister said just that, in a bit more diplomatic language:

Russia’s foreign minister dismissed the indictment on Saturday, calling it ‘just blabber.’

Asked about the indictments Saturday while at the same conference as McMaster, Sergey Lavrov replied: ‘I have no response. You can publish anything, and we see those indictments multiplying, the statements multiplying.’ He argued that U.S. officials also have said no country influenced the U.S. election results.

Lavrov added: ‘Until we see the facts, everything else is just blabber.

I doubt Russian will extradite anyone on blabber.

What the hell was Mueller thinking? He knows he’s never going to be able to prosecute these people, and the crimes he’s charging are small potatoes (take the Powerline link to read the actual indictment). And Rod Rosenstein, whose actions indicate he is anything but a Trump–or Constitution–supporter, admits no Americans–that includes Donald Trump–were involved and the Russian efforts didn’t amount to anything. That President Trump hasn’t fired that guy continues to amaze; the same thing applies to AG Sessions, but what do I know?

Let’s see what known–and admitted–perjurer John Brennan has to say:

That just might explain things. There is no collusion. There never was. It was an invention of the Clinton campaign after they lost as a means of explaining their loss and an attempt to damage Trump (actually, we know that’s true). How would they possibly explain things if the Mueller investigation ended, probably after Trump is out of office, and there were no remotely Russian-related indictments? As we all know, Progressives cannot possibly be wrong. So they charged 13 Russians, people that will never be deposed, people that will never be arrested and never tried, and charged them with offenses only tangentially related to the election so they could claim there was Russian interference in the election, even though they admit no Americans were involved and the Russian’s didn’t accomplish anything.

This means we’ll be hearing progressive congress twits screaming, from now until the end of time, they were right all along about the Russians.

Oh, they claim the Russian efforts opposed Bernie Sanders. Wouldn’t that help Hillary? I’ve got it! The Russians were colluding with the DNC, which we know rigged the primary against Sanders to Hillary’s benefit. I await the Special Counsel’s indictment of Debbie Wasserman Schultz! Oh, that’s right: there won’t be any indictments of Americans, and certainly not Democrats, which is why there will be no indictments of any kind.

One must also keep in mind that after Obama attacked Mitt Romney for suggesting Russia is our enemy, he could scarcely admit Russia was our enemy, even though the Russians were operating against the election as early as 2014. Oh, and where was the FBI? They were busy helping the Russians by opposing Trump.

The indictment also claims the Russians tried to help Trump. Could Barack Obama have been involved? Remember his flexibility pledge to the Russians? Was he also “flexible” in working with them against Trump? That’s not at all far-fetched, and we’re learning more virtually daily on his actions against Trump. Any Obama involvement would also be a reason Mueller and his enabler Rosenstein went to such trouble to specifically absolve all Americans. There was no way Hillary Clinton would ever be indicted because her criminality involved Barack Obama, who used a surreptitious e-mail account to communicate classified information with her on her off the books server. Indict the Progressive messiah? Impossible, so Trump is off the hook too. Oh, how that must have hurt.

But why would the Russians try to help Trump? Wouldn’t they want Hillary, who they knew was on their side, a useful idiot they could easily manipulate, to win? They, like everyone else, thought Trump could not possibly win, right up to the last few hours of the election, when he did. Boosting Trump with the right kind or racist, distasteful propaganda could only help ensure Hillary’s inevitable, historic, glass ceiling breaking victory–or so they, and virtually everyone else, thought.

Hans von Spakovsky, on Fox, explains:

In other words, according to the indictment, to the extent these Russians had any contact with members of the Trump campaign, those individuals had no idea that these defendants were anything other than Americans who wanted to help the campaign. The Russians took elaborate steps to disguise their identity and their true motives.

These Russians didn’t just target the United States. They also went after ‘domestic audiences within the Russian Federation’ as well other ‘foreign audiences in various countries,’ the indictment says.

What were these secret Russians posting about? The indictment says they were instructed to ‘write about topics germane to the United States’ such as foreign policy and economic issues. They were directed to create ‘political intensity through supporting racial groups, users dissatisfied with (the) social and economic situation and oppositional social movements.’

The Russians allegedly created ‘thematic group pages on social media sites’ on everything from immigration to the Black Lives Matters movement. And they allegedly bought internet ads to support these pages.

The Russians apparently really wanted to create dissension. After the election, using their false U.S. identities, they allegedly organized and coordinated ‘political rallies in support of then president-elect Trump, while simultaneously using other false U.S. personas to organize and coordinate U.S. political rallies protesting the results of the 2016 U.S. presidential election,’ according to the indictment.

Two of those rallies in New York on Nov. 12, 2016, were secretly organized by the Russians, one on the theme of ‘show your support for President-Elect Donald Trump,’ while the second rally was on the theme of ‘Trump is NOT my President,’ the indictment alleges.

This is precisely what Russia has always done, in election years or not: disinformation aimed at dividing Americans. The term “useful idiots” refers to foreign nationals willing to attack their own nations, either knowingly supporting communism, or being stupid enough to fall for whatever the Russian were serving up.

This doesn’t mean Mueller and his Democrat donors won’t cook up something else to further the ongoing coup, but for the moment, the Trump collusion narrative appears to be on life support.

America has never had any lack of useful idiots. Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein, substantial portions of the DOJ, FBI, virtually all federal agencies, the Congress, the Republican Never Trumpers, our Lamestream Media and all Progressives are merely the latest vanguard of idiocy. Vladimir Putin and his cronies are laughing their asses off.
