It was the Democrat Party that removed all mention of God from its party platform in 2012:
The word ‘God’ is nowhere to be found in the Democratic national platform this year, an omission Republicans have seized upon as a failure of their opponents to appreciate the divine’s place in American history.
GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan took to the airwaves Wednesday (Sept. 5) to blast the change from the Democrats’ 2008 platform. ‘I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God,’ Ryan said on ‘Fox & Friends.’
Ryan also attacked the Democratic platform’s failure to affirm Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, an issue important to some American Jews and conservative Christians.
Rejecting the Almighty, and particularly, believers, is easy and painless for the Left. They know Christians will not kill them for their attacks, and at worst, might pray for them, a concept they also reflexively reject. Their ideology does not admit the existence of anyone or anything greater than that ideology, or perhaps, as in the case of Barack Obama, their most recent political messiah, who himself mocked the “God and gun clingers” of flyover country. In so doing, leftists reject a faith that teaches to love one’s neighbor and to forgive them. Instead, they substitute hatred and smug, witless derision, as Fox News reports:
The women of ABC News’ ‘The View’ took a shot a Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith on Tuesday, mocking the former governor of Indiana for talking to Jesus and even calling it a ‘mental illness.’
It all started when they played a clip from ‘Celebrity Big Brother,’ in which former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman discussed the vice president.
‘As bad as you think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence… everyone that is wishing for impeachment might want to reconsider their life,’ she said in the clip. ‘I am Christian, I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.
Notice, gentle readers, we are expected to take this on faith, despite there being no examples. It is hardly remarkable for Christians to believe that Christ “speaks” to them. Most do not think that Jesus speaks in the commonly understood sense of the word, but it is not uncommon for some believers to say they feel Christ is leading them to do things or to make decisions. Those that do claim to have direct conversations are sometimes thought to be a bit wishful, but no actual believer thinks that impossible. None know the mind and methods of God. Yet Newman, and the venomous leftists of The View, speak from a position of intellectual and moral superiority:
Hostin declared that Pence is a ‘hated figure’ in Indiana, claiming she knows firsthand because she attended law school in the state.
‘He’s not very popular at all,’ she said. ‘I think when you have a Mike Pence who now sort of puts this religious veneer on things and calls people ‘values voters,’ I think we’re in a dangerous situation.”
Hostin said she is a ‘faithful’ Catholic but doesn’t want her vice president “speaking in tongues.
Again, there is no evidence presented that VP Pence, or even President Trump, are putting a “religious veneer” on anything, nor can any such evidence be found. The Moral Majority was disbanded in the late 1980s, and no similar Christian movement has taken its place, because Christians came to understand God’s purpose was not to be realized by forcing political orthodoxy on others. This stands in stark opposition to progressives who exist to force their political values on all.
The suggestion that VP Pence speaks in tongues, is not only unsupported by example or evidence, it’s nonsensical. He is Catholic, and such practices are far outside mainstream Catholicism. The suggestion that any faithful Christian is somehow “dangerous” is likewise foolish and demonstrates a lack of understanding of Christianity, and certainly of human nature.
Joy Behar then said: ‘It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you.’
Behar said hearing voices is a ‘mental illness’ before Sherri Shepard offered a limited defense of Pence.
‘As a Christian, that’s just par for the course,’ Shepard said “You talk to Jesus, Jesus talks back. What concerns me is, how long is the conversation with Jesus?
So there is a time limit on communion with Christ? As long as one keeps it short, it’s acceptable to the exalted beings of The View, but exceed their limits, and one is mentally ill? One can’t help but notice Shepard did not mention her limits and rules for divine communication.
Behar, an ABC News star, uncomfortably joked, ‘Can he talk to Mary Magdalene without his wife in the room?
Very humorous. Behar is obviously referring to the fact that VP Pence has long ensured that he is never alone with a woman not his wife. Considering what radical Leftists like Behar has wrought, every man would be wise to adopt Pence’s methods. And of course, Christians, even Catholics, do not place the mother of Jesus on a par with the Lord.
Shepard then said that the key is ‘moderation’ and anything that is ‘too much’ is concerning.
“Moderation.” Again, none of the noted theologians of The View, deigned to inform the pathetic Christian population what “too much” might be, or how or why that might be “concerning.”
Fortunately, VP Pence, following in President Trump’s methodology, did not take this silently, as Fox News reports:
To have ABC maintain a broadcast forum that compared Christianity to mental illness is just wrong,’ Pence said Wednesday on C-SPAN. ‘It is simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance.
But how can that be? Everyone knows Leftists are the most tolerant people on Earth!
The vice president said ‘The View’ hosts insulted the ‘vast majority of the American people who cherish faith.’
‘It demonstrates how out of touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people that you could have a major network like ABC permit a forum for invective against religion like that.
None of this is surprising. The left not only hates non-Progressive Americans in general–they’re deplorable, don’t you know–but they absolutely loathe Christians, some of the most genuinely tolerant people on Earth. They also routinely and reflexively embrace any dictator that hates America as much as they, including Islamists, even though Islamists would be delighted to kill every Progressive they could get their hands on, and particularly the members of many favored Progressive identity victim groups. We will never, gentle readers, hear the religious bigots of The View criticizing Islamists, which is actually somewhat intelligent. The adherents of the religion of peace tend to get a bit touchy about criticism.
There is, however, nothing unchristian about voicing an opinion, just as VP Pence did. Ill-informed, intolerant bigots deserve to be known as, well, ill-informed, intolerant bigots
