In the past–it seems long ago–the captain of a U.S. Navy warship that failed to protect his ship and crew would quickly be relieved of his command. As I noted in Barack Obama: Attack Profile, just that recently happened to the USS Donald Cook, patrolling in international waters in the Baltic Sea, when the destroyer was repeatedly buzzed, as closely as 30 feet(!?) by two Russian SU-24 bombers.

Of course, we don’t know everything about that situation, but Chris Muir of Day By Day–if you’re not reading the strip day by day, you’re missing the best, most incisive work on the Internet–accurately depicts the depth to which our Navy, under Barack Obama, has sunk.
