Screen Shot 2016-01-26 at 10.53.39Around the world, Christians are being driven from their homes and countries. They are being beaten, enslaved, tortured, raped, crucified and murdered. Coincidentally, the same is happening to Jews. And who, exactly is committing these crimes against humanity? Muslims, and Iran is the primary, and most vicious, state sponsor of worldwide terrorism.

With this desperate, ugly reality as backdrop, what, one might ask, is the head of the oldest Christian faith in the world doing about it? Fox News explains:

As Iran’s president faces controversies ranging from his country’s secretive nuclear program to its support of terror and alleged human rights abuses, he had a simple request for Pope Francis on Tuesday: ‘Pray for me.’

Hassan Rouhani’s visit to the Holy See saw the first meeting between a pope and an Iranian president since 1999. Iran, which agreed to limit its nuclear activities in exchange for an end to economic sanctions, is eager to carve out a bigger role in mediating Middle East conflicts.

Francis’ papacy has been marked by mediation and conflict resolution.

Translation: “Limit its nuclear activities” = build as many bombs as possible as fast as possible. “Mediating Middle East conflicts” = conquer and slaughter all the infidels and other Muslims.

I ask you to pray for me,’ Rouhani told Francis after their 40-minute meeting. He called the visit by the leader of a Muslim country to the head of the Roman Catholic church ‘a real pleasure.’

Francis thanked Rouhani for the visit and added: ‘I hope for peace.’ He gave the Iranian a medal depicting St. Martin helping a poor man, an act Francis called ‘a sign of unsolicited brotherhood.

There was once a pope that recognized evil when he saw it. He worked with Ronald Reagan to destroy the Soviet empire. Hoping for peace is weak sauce indeed when one is dealing with a theocratic despot determined not only to commit genocide against whole peoples, but who sees all Christians as mortal enemies to be enslaved or slaughtered.

Before going to the Vatican, Rouhani told a forum of business leaders in Rome that ‘Iran is the safest and most stable country of the entire region.’ It is the first state visit by an Iranian president to Europe in nearly two decades.

This is, in part, thanks to President Obama who did nothing to help young Iranians when they had a chance to overthrow their evil, barbaric government. Iran’s relative stability is primarily due to its willingness to kill not only its own people, but anyone else that stands in its way. The Soviets used to brag that the West would sell them the rope with which they would hang it. How the Iranians must be laughing at western governments cozying up to them.

Rouhani’s four-day visit to Italy and France is part of efforts by Iran to reach out to its old partners following the implementation of the nuclear deal, and Rouhani is eager for foreign investment after the lifting of international sanctions. The trip was originally planned for November but postponed because of the attacks in Paris.

I don’t see why that should have been a problem. After all, it was just a preview of the kind of “mediation” the Iranians are so eager to bestow upon the world.

Rome is, of course, renowned for its masterpieces of art. The Romans took special care in presenting that art to Rouhani and his Islamist entourage. CBSnews reports:

Rouhani — the first Iranian leader to visit Europe in almost 20 years — met Tuesday with Pope Francis at the Vatican, but another stop on his agenda was the famed Capitoline Museum, where classic Italian nude sculptures were covered with plain white boards to avoid offending the Muslim president.

Italian news agency ANSA said the nudes were covered out of respect for Rouhani.

The article does not mention whether all women within sight of Rouhani were likewise covered with white boards. There were, however, at least a few Italians not determined to roll over for barbarians:

Nonetheless, the move wasn’t going over well with many Italians on social media, some of whom lambasted it as ‘absurd,’ and ‘embarrassing, servile behaviour.’

Others asked whether Italian leaders had questioned Rouhani over Iran’s dubious human rights record.

I suspect the answer to that would be not only “no,” but “hell no.”

Catholics are not the only Christians bowing to the wishes of those that would gladly decapitate them. Mark Steyn explains:

Great news! Anglican bishops are moving toward the same position on facial hair as Mullah Omar:

Vicars should grow BEARDS to reach out to Muslims in their areas, says Bishop of London

Yes, the Taliban comes to the Angliban Communion:

One of the priests praised by the Bishop of London, the Rev. Atkinson told The Telegraph he found having a beard had helped provide a connection with many people in his parish, around 85 per cent of whom are Muslim…

The heart of the Cockney East End: 85 per cent Muslim. As they sing in Oliver!, ‘Consider yourself at ‘ome!’ So one must adapt as one can:

He said he had forged new links with people after growing his facial hair.

He explained: ‘It is an icebreaker – St Paul said ‘I become all things to all men that by all possible means I might save some’…

Really? The C[hurch] of E[ngland] is back in the conversion game?

The second vicar – the Rev Rogers – told the newspaper he was approached by a man who told him he respected him because he had a beard.

The man went on to tell him his beard showed dedication and commitment to something and it showed wisdom.

In a very real sense, the Church of England is a beard for Islam.

Islam doesn’t have to conquer western civilization. Substantial portions of it, including a socialist pope, have already surrendered and are now begging the Islamists to think well of them

But shouldn’t we try to talk to our enemies? Can’t we reason with them? Won’t they understand how sincere and peaceful we are and adopt our way of thinking out of sympathy and gratitude?

No. We’re dealing with medieval barbarians that know how to use modern weapons of war. Where we see conciliation and good will, they are capable of seeing only weakness. Where we think ourselves moral, they think us evil and decadent. Where we hold out a hand of sincerity, they cut it off with the sword.

It’s them or us—civilization vs. barbarism, and the leader of the world’s Catholics thinks a visit from a man that would gladly commit genocide on a previously unthinkable scale—that will commit it when he has the weapons–“a real pleasure.” The Anglican Bishop of London seeks to adopt Islamic fashions.

And around the world, the blood of Christians, Jews, all non-Muslims and not a few Muslims, continues to spill.
