I’m no Trump fan. As far as I know he’s a liberal on every issue except immigration and American exceptionalism. But, he’s doing us all a great favor by his willingness to point out that “the emperor has no clothes” on immigration. He appears to be the only one of the 20-odd candidates of both parties who is willing to speak about the absurdity of continuously releasing violent illegals simply because…they are illegals. If a citizen commits a violent crime, he will likely be punished within the law, but an illegal committing the same crime is likely to be released. I believe that his popularity shows that the “silent majority” may no longer be willing to stay silent. Perhaps all that is needed is real leader. My hope is that Cruz, Walker, or Carson can be that person. But right now, for all of his imperfections, Trump is the only one showing any leadership. Perhaps his popularity is more about the ineffectiveness of the other candidates, and if true then our anger should be directed at the others, not Trump.
No wonder Shatner lost his hair!
Like a gremlin crashing a plane, Trump could cause great damage to the world economy by starting a trade war with China.
That screenshot was the spookiest moment in the episode. I jumped in my seat when Shatner opened the window blind, I wrote a short essay on “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” called “A Psychotic Episode.” If you would like to read it, here is the link: https://christopherjohnlindsay.wordpress.com/2014/07/27/nightmare-at-20000-feet/ I am open to any helpful feedback.
