The good folks at PJ Media have kindly published my article on the inapplicability of so-called “less than lethal” methods in stopping school shooters. There is reluctance, even by some who recognize that the only sure way to stop an armed killer and save lives is armed school staff, to adopt complete policies. There seems to be a tendency to try to employ half measures, measures that might somehow magically render unnecessary the use of deadly force against those who would slaughter innocent children.
It may be worth your time to stop by PJ Media and see why that is a particularly bad idea. If you’ve never visited PJ Media, I’m sure you’ll see why it is one of the most informative and important sites on the Internet.
I go to PJ Media several times a week, if only to read Andrew Klavan, Victor Davis Hanson, and Spengler.
I thought Klavan was a good writer until I saw him do a video of his material. His videos are even better.
What amazes me are the trolls. Some talk about how people who own guns are vigilantes. Where did protecting self and property morph into vigilantism? I don’t see that connection at all, yet at least one troll at PJ Media was talking about it. From what I know of vigilantism, it is the taking the law into one’s hands and dispensing justice. It is using force proactively. Defending self or property is using force re-actively.
Dear Joel:
You’re quite right.
