There is a particularly ironic ancient Chinese curse:

May you live in interesting times.

It is a curse, of course, because “interesting” does not always mean good, and in the age of Obama, much that Americans have always understood and taken for granted has been turned upside down.  We live in destructively interesting times, with the very real potential of worse to come.

The ObamaCare Future Provided By Our Betters!

A few things to consider for this coming, fateful week:

IRRATIONALITY:  On 01-04-12, Shepherd Smith of Fox News observed that in this election, those supporting both candidates cannot imagine voting for the other, believing they’ll destroy everything.

I have no doubt many followers of “The One” can’t imagine life without their messiah in charge, but reality—and a basic knowledge of history—are revealing.

Mitt Romney is far from a conservative and is doing nothing but promising to reinstate traditional American economic, social and national security policies, very much middle of the road—prior to the age of Obama—stuff.

Barack Obama was, before his election, the most leftist Senator in the US Senate, more to the left than the Senate’s only avowed socialist.  All of his policies are focused on turning American into a large version of Greece or any other failed or failing European social welfare state.

So, it’s completely rational to imagine that Mitt Romney represents the destruction of America.  He’s proposing a return to everything that worked before Mr. Obama began taking a wrecking ball to the nation.  What could be worse?

LUNATIC LOGIC:  On the 11-04-12 edition of Fox News Sunday, Obama Campaign guru David Axelrod told Chris Wallace that Mr. Obama is

100 percent committed to the people he sends overseas, personally, to represent this country. He’s the one who met those coffins when they came home. So any suggestion that he would not take the necessary steps to protect them is just nonsense.

So, the fact that Mr. Obama chose to do a press opportunity to meet the coffins of four Americans he abandoned to their deaths—an opportunity where the Vice President insulted one of the parents of those honored dead in a particularly crude and utterly stupid manner, and where Hillary Clinton also promised to arrest and prosecute a man who made a video trailer that had nothing to do with the attack—is proof that he did not do everything he could to protect the dead?  Of course.  What craven politician caring only for his own welfare and reelection wouldn’t have meeting the coffins of Americans his incompetence and negligence killed foremost on his mind?

UNIMAGINABLE:  Before Barack Obama, who could imagine any American President saying, as Mr. Obama did in a January 2008 San Fran Chronicle interview…

…under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…

They would have to retrofit their operations.  That will cost money; they will pass that money on to consumers.

Or who could imagine an American President saying this:

If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them.

Worse yet, who could imagine an American president actually closing coal plants, throwing thousands of miners out of work, and purposely causing enormous damage to the economy?  Who could imagine an EPA unleashed to impose the most fevered dreams of insanely malicious environmentalists on the public, as the EPA is poised to do after the election?  Gentle readers, we haven’t seen anything yet.

UTTERLY UNIMAGINABLE:  Prior to Barack Hussein Obama, who could have possibly imagined an American president, standing before the General Assembly of the United Nations (on 09-25-12) and saying:

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

Yes, I know he said other things too.  But think about that one.  It’s the First Amendment for a reason, and a president who has no respect for that

What kind of American–the POTUS–would even think of saying that?

PS:  And if you thought the EPA isn’t planning anything worse…
